Leif's 'The Hall of the Rainbow Mage' [A] (D&D 3.5 OOC)

Did they change something?
I think 4E has Drow as a supported, LA +0 race.

As for wanting lynchmobs, I'd say it'd be unlikely for everyone everywhere to want me dead.

Now, possibly mistrust or suspicion would make sense, but outright lynchmob would be a bit of a major hindrance to the party, and I'd rather NOT screw with the party if it can be helped, lol

No, I understand that, which is why I said DM's description. If you were playing in a Rhun Forgotten Realms campaign, you'd always have to be on the lookout for said lynchmobs. But you have the gentle, accepting Leif as your DM. :p

I believe my Drow in a Rhun Forgotten Realms campaign would learn to get a Hat of Disguises very quickly. ;)

So true, he's too nice :)q

Even Drizz't had to wear a "mask of disguise" at one point in his life...it made him appear as a Sun Elf. And without it, he was denied entry to Waterdeep, Silverymoon, and a bunch of other cities and towns. The prejudice against him is one of the major themes of Salvatore's books.

It's not, just look at 4e's FRCS Leif
Yeah, but this game is 3.5, so Drow are generally still bad guys. ;)
LOL. I actually do both! But just my homebrew campaign setting tonight.
Cool!

Fair enough, DM's discretion afterall. I just remember some of the remarks about Waterdeep, which is generally considered the most open city in the Realms: "Pretty much anyone will be let in, unless they are an orc, a drow, or a mindflayer."
Yeah, but like you've already noticed, Theroc was talking about the 4e treatment of Drow, and in 4e, Drow pcs are covered.
Did they change something?
Yeah, but I'm several posts behind the curve now, so you've already covered all of this. :p

Though, Drizzt couldn't fly... or become invisible. (I don't think)

But your point is taken. The whole, "You're supposed to be evil but you're not" thing is something I have a tendency to be drawn to. Maybe the concept of redemption or just defying the 'norm' by being above it is just something that lures my attention.

That and Drow always struck me as pretty darn cool. (Even though half of the stuff is restricted to bad Drow only, lol)

Yeah, drow were bad ass back in the day. As soon as everyone started playing them they kinda lost their coolness factor to me.
