Leif's 'The Hall of the Rainbow Mage' [A] (D&D 3.5 OOC)

I don't mind connecting characters, I just need to know a little about them so I can mold my somewhat amorphous history concept to fit. Basics are:
Mistreated Drow Male who rebelled against Lolthian society, killed his Matron Mother(or whatever) and fled the Underdark. After that I can sorta play around, though I've envisioned him as a more assassin-type character than an upfront fighter or a backline caster.

Hopefully I can get my PC posted, but it is likely my character would have had dealings with your drow in the past...

lol, as the DM, you're more than clarified, seeing as you know what's coming. But that's also why you should refrain. In anycase, I wasn't fishing for your advice, Leif, as I figured you'd not want to influence my decisions, having foreknowledge that might color your opinions.

Jemal's character was meant to protect Mages, or something to that effect.

My character wasn't really a guardian, and could actually lean to the other extreme, depending on invocation choices.

Just that your background doesn't have to tie into anyone else's, with the exception fo recent history that would have brought us together for the adventure.

I'm not sure what he means, but what I mean is that it's really not a major deal if the backgrounds don't mesh in every respect. It's cool with me that we're all here and want to game together! Everything else is secondary to that at best.

I just need to make sure I get things setup so Nilah at least marginally gets along with the party. I'm thinking he himself might not be particularly fond of mages(since he was always being punished for his lack of ability to learn arcane magic, being a Warlock and not a Wizard)
