Looking For A Solo Eberron Game

That sounds good. For a home city I'd suggest a place called Emerald Hall, one of the last surviving great dwarven halls. If you've taken a look at the map I posted in the blog, you see a big city named Doringdel at about the center of the map. Though this human-city is now completely ruined the mountains north of hide the Emerald Hall.

So your ultimate goal is to find the fabled Axe, though you know it will not be easy.

Along the way, searching clues for it's whereabouts you will end up helping the above-worlders and making new friends, as well as enemies...

Nice. I'll start the game sometime next week. I still don't have DMG nor MM, since I've been running the KotS for my table-group. I'm going to buy those in monday.

But for in-game background I'd like to know the relative age you planned Kildrak to be. In this world the average lifespan of dwarves is 500 years and they are considered adults at around 40 when their beards have grown to respectable length. So if your thinking a young dwarf that would be somewhere 40-70. If for someone who already have established standing in the society then something between 70-100 maybe. The other question is wether or not he has left the underworld ever before. He could have been among the trade caravans that regularly visit the nearby human settlements, if you wish for one who's been upside. That is also how we'll start. Kildrak will go along with a caravan to one of the settlements and continue from there on himself.

So, after taking a good time with the DMG and MM I've come to the conclusion that solo will be much harder in 4e than it is in 3.x. To offset this somewhat I was thinking that I'd provide you some NPC friends to tag along. Generally they will probably be a level or two below you (once we get that far), and tend to change from time to time. For example at first you're travelling with a dwarven caravan out from the underworld. Once you get to their destination they will leave you however...

That sounds all right I guess. When making my character, I did make sure that I had a power that allowed me to clear out swarms of minions; namely Dire Wolverine Strike.

That's the game-thread there ;).

Some points about dwarves to keep in mind:

First of, they're creedy bunch of fellows. Gold and gems can drive dwarven clans to wars with eachother which is kind of their downfall, since unity would be one thing that could keep them from falling to orcs and drow...

Second, most dwarves have never left the underground and seeing the outside world can be a bit distracting at best. They are extremely agoraphobic at worst. Now I think Kildrak best not have such extreme condition but seeing the sky might be somewhat unsettling.

Third, I hope you've read OotS. The trees are evil, this is known to all dwarves. If you don't know what I refer to, I'll try to find the relevant OotS comic for explanation ;).

About religions. As dwarves don't have much doings with others you don't really need to know about the religions of this world. Suffice to say they are different from core except that dwarves worship Moradin and his children, who can be found from the FR-setting. (ie. Dumathoin and the other dwarven deities.)

Sorry K, for the lack of updates on both games. The ENW is frustrating and my own time is even more frustrating. I'll try once again to get the updates up.
