Looking for flavor/background for Vestige Pact Warlock

Yeah, and the Valenar Elves of Eberron lend themselves well to Vestige warlocks.

As do devas, with the Vestiges being their own past lives.
 

Jigsaw, a Warforged Vestige Pact Warlock looks like it was assembled from spare parts, and looks that way for a reason: each mismatched piece is connected to some forgotten, otherworldly power; it is the secret source of it's abilities...

Some other Vestige Pact Ideas:

  1. Like Jigsaw the Warforged, a Shardmind or Wildren could contain actual elements of a forgotten entity that grants it the powers of a Vestige Pact
  2. A Changeling or Halfling may get access to all kinds of areas that others may not be able to, and as such, may find themselves in contact with strange emanations that create a link with the missing outsiders.
  3. Similarly, a Githzerai's life on the Astral Plane may expose them to Vestiges by passing tangentially close to the locales of the beings in question.
 

Some other Vestige Pact Ideas:

  1. Like Jigsaw the Warforged, a Shardmind or Wildren could contain actual elements of a forgotten entity that grants it the powers of a Vestige Pact

Actually that gives me an idea for a campaign-long adversary: the Quom. They are (according to The Plane Above) attempting to track down all the pieces of their dead patron god Lakal so that they can reassemble her. Unfortunately many pieces are embedded in magic items, locations and even living creatures. The Quom extract fragments by force. Once one manifests the connection to vestiges, it may be a sign that one contains a fragment of Lakal...

Also, yes the githyanki built their city on the corpse of a dead primordial or god. The city and ground itself might whisper to some of the inhabitants!

This reminds me of the MM3's Forsaken, fragments of a dead god that took root inside mortals, giving them glimpses of what immortal life was like. Driven mad, they blind themselves so they don't have to look at the world that cause the god's death and seek to kill all mortals and immortals.
