[May] What are you playing?

Well I finally finished Oracle of Ages, not sure what I'll move to next. Maybe Oracle of Seasons if the Zelda bug keeps biting.

JUST got the Morrowind Game o' The Year Edition for PC. I'm hooked. Been meaning to get this for a while, and seeing it for $30 with both expansions was just too good to pass up.

Currently playing a 4th level Knight who rocks. :)

I love the game but I power game/break it without even trying too. But hey it was nice that ultimate power came in a game style I wanted to play.

Of course, this will all change once I get La Pucelle: Tactics in a few days (hopefully). It's a prequal to Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, one of my favorite games.

Excellent taste... I'm borrowing Disgaea for the PS2 from a friend now, almost at the end, it has to be one the games with the best sense of humor all-time.

On the gamecube I'm going back and finishing Starfox Adventures

Nothing PC-wise as I need to upgrade my computer or buy a new one something fierce :(

I just got La Pucelle . . . and wow, its really a great game. It does a good job balancing a semi-serious story, several subplots, interesting characters, and really funny dialogue. Its also got that wacky anime sense of humor. Compared to Disgaea, I'd say the storyline of La Pucelle is better, but the combat of Disgaea is more refined.

Good luck finishing Disgaea. The final battles are rough, but the ending quite rewarding.

Makes sense, La Pucelle was released a year before Disgaea in Japan.

I'd dearly love to get in on the WoW beta, but for now I'm content with various multiplayer games:

Far Cry (best SP game since Half-life IMO)
UT2004
Enemy Territory (best free game out there, hands down)

I only just got a video card that can handle Hardware T&L to play the newest games that require it. I bought Battlefield Vietnam to try it out and I'm a bit disappointed. Mostly, I suspect the computer cheats and I hate that.

My complaint relates to spawn points. In BF1942, I remember enemies always spawning at their bases. In BFV, I kept having problems with enemies popping up out of nowhere despite my best efforts to try to establish some kind of a front, catch them in transit or anything else to try to remove a bit of the absolute chaos from the situation. During one base defense in which I was getting hit by waves and waves of VC/NVA, I happened to find a spot just on the edge of my base where enemies were spawning out of mid air and attacking in waves. I experienced a similar problem as NVA with Americans doing the same. The only difference is the Americans seem to have a little box marking where this happens. This wouldn't be so bad if the AI troops would defend their bases, but they won't. They just run off the moment they capture a base, even if there are enemies attacking from the other direction (I had that happen last night where the vehicle I was in the gunner position of drove off to attack another base leaving the one we just captured to be recaptured by troops I was shooting at as we left.

Of course, I realize that single player is only an afterthought to this game as the primary emphasis is on the online fragfests. I really can't stand those very much because people get mad at you and boot you from their server if you try to do anything but madly rush lemming-like at the enemy flags. Frankly, WWIIOnline was the only place I ever had a fun online FPS experience. I may have to get back into that as I understand they've made a lot of changes since I last played. That or try something Everquest-like again if I want to do online gaming. I understand EQ2 is due out later this year and some of the developers hostility to soloers and archers has evidently been tempered.

Before I got BFV last week, I was playing Space Empires IV, though that also had some AI trouble.

Engeneirs can create spawn points in BFV. Heh-heh my favorite occupaiton form BF1942 rules even more now.

Oh and I've never got booted form any BF game and I never charge lemming like at the opposing bases. You've had some highly unusualy experiences online if you were getting booted for that. Which servers do you use?

I don't remember what server it was. This was last summer with BF1942 and I got so disgusted that I haven't bothered online since.

I guess I'll have to see what happens with an engineer in game, but I didn't see any spawn point for the "VC", just dropping out of midair. It's very annoying.
