Quite possibly not. It's hard for me to plan work commitments out that far ahead (and frankly, usually I'd just tell the people I work for that I've got plans that weekend and to sod off), but we do our big international conference in mid-Oct and that is our busiest time of year. It would probably end up being a 'morning of' decision for me.

Rodrigo,

Thanks. Let's see what kind of response we get...

If it is a big inconvenience for lots of folks, we will keep the 9/25 date and work with the space we have (or, if the stars align, we can snag the Grand Ballroom). Thanks for the quick response.

Not a problem for me, and probably not for most since it is still 3 months away. With the larger room we can spread out more and intermingle well without having to bump shoulders. I would vote that we go for it, but we should guarantee it soon so we can keep the location and date solid from here on out.

For the security, I would rather the vendors make their contributions to cover that as it will directly benefit them. We could be the go-between for the cash, but the total from them should be enough to cover the security IMO.

That actually works out better for me. That means I might be able to make it to both this and the NC Game Day.

Plus, Sept 25th is Yom Kippur, and I've got some friends in Baltimore that were not going to be able to make in on the 25th, and if it changes they will most likely be able to come.

New Date

If we can get a good sized room at almost half the cost, I say lets go for it. The new date will not be a problem with me. I think my 4 regular players will also be able to make that date, but I will check with them this weekend.

As far as the vendors and security issues. I don't thinks it's too much to ask for the vendors to chip in to pay the security cost, unless there is only a single vendor.

In either case I can donate some money to the cause.

This might actually work better for us, but Queen_D and I could have made it work either way, as long as it wasn't right after GenCon, as originally planned. Only time will tell for sure, though...
