[MM2e] Salton City Needs Heroes! Episode 1: Premiere

"How did your group discover about the plot? I specifically told Police Chief Fokine to keep the death threats and the attacks on my home a secret, and only to have his most trusted men work on my case."


Keiko nearly stumbles at that news; her dignity saved mostly by virtue of her invisibility. How long has this been brewing? And he was planning a big public appearance??

"We didn't learn it from the police. We have some information sources of our own that tipped us off to a possible threat. When we got here we captured some suspects who told us more. How long have these threats and attacks been going on? And have the ones responsible stated what the motive is? Why have you attracted so much attention?"

She opens the building's door telekinetically, synchronizing it to the illusion's movements, and allowing her to carefully look inside before letting the mayor in.

In a near by Alley
"Pole, its your main man TV here, I've apprehended a lady here Anya, seem like she knew the clones and is in on this charade. She was on the phone to her boss just now, just checkin her call history, coppers got anyone spare to bring her in?"
The girl's only possessions were the following: An Californian ID, an ATM card, a blue-tooth headset, $40, jewelry, and a gophone.

The girl's name appears to be Anya Reznik, she is 19 years old, and according to the ID states that she is living in Hemet California. To Terrance's horror, the gophone only had one number listed in it's history and that the phone only has been used several times in the last three days.


South of Heritage Plaza

"Only about a month."
"Have the ones responsible stated what the motive is?"
"They been trying to extort about $10,000 from me. They said that they know my 'dark secret' and that they will release it to the media if I did not give them the money. Then when I refused to pay they started attacking my house and they said they would only stop if I paid."
"Why have you attracted so much attention?"
"You are talking about the ceremony right? Well I was hoping that calling Captain Superior into the City would have stopped the extortionists. After all, they were asking for only $10,000, but I didn't think they would call in a super assassin, I thought they were bluffing."

Kitsune opened a building's door and glanced inside. The doorway opens onto a ten-fifteen foot wide lobby with a narrow stairwell. Their are several numbered doors that open into the lobby, each with an accompanying name plate that suggests that the building is used for office suites. The lobby appears to be bisected by a short hallway that runs parallel to the outside street.

City Hall
The Viking glanced down at the collapsed clones and noticed something strange. The mens' features appeared to be going through some sort of unexplainable change. slowly, the men's skin men's skin appeared to be less like flesh, and more waxen almost as if the the men were turning into wax dummies. As the Viking watched, he could hear the sound of muffled screaming and banging coming from behind the reception's counter.

OOC: The same sort of change is occurring to the other "clones". Igor however, remains flesh and blood.

Shock hit Keiko so hard she almost lost her grip on the illusion. Her visible double seemed to shimmer for a moment before she got her grip again.

Is he lying??

"Mayor-san...who is trying to kill you?" she asks straight out. "And for what true reason? No one would go to all this trouble over just ten thousand dollars."

Kitsune is certain that the Mayor is telling the truth.

"Mayor-san...who is trying to kill you? And for what true reason? No one would go to all this trouble over just ten thousand dollars."

"I don't know. I mean, I don't think I have any enemies... or at least none that would try to kill me." He paused. "The only person I can think of that might have a grudge against me is the former mayor. You see, not to long ago city council ousted him when the local paper exposed his mafia ties. Before that happened, he was trying to get appointed to the position of City Manager and I ended up being the deciding vote against his nomination." The mayor furrowed his brow, "It know it sounds stupid, but maybe he might think I was responsible for both."

As he listens to the update from TV, the Ten-Foot Pole goes over and toes the discarded apron. Everything seems to be tied up nicely, but he can't help the feeling that he's missed something.

Outside the Cafe
The Ten Foot Pole glances around and notices that the apron which was worn by the cashier was discarded onto the ground a few feet away from him....

... He then noticed what appears to be a "slight flickering shape" moving away from the cafe.

"Hmm?"

Catching something strange out of the corner of his eye, the Ten-Foot Pole tries to follow the flickering shape to get a better look.

"Hmm?"

The Ten Foot Pole started to follow the flickering shape. After a few moments, the shape briefly stopped moving, before it started to retreat from The Ten Foot Pole at a quicker pace. There is a sudden flash and a fleeing girl becomes completely visible.

The Ten-Foot Pole frowns at the sudden apparation. Continuing forward, he calls out to the girl.

"Hey! What are you doing here?"

Then, into his headset.

"I've got a unidentified female fleeing the scene at the cafe. Powered."

The girl mutters something under her breath then spins around, causing her blond hair to whip seductively onto her shoulder. She quickly placed her arms behind her back and smiled. " I"m trying to escape from those corrupt mafia cops."

"I've got a unidentified female fleeing the scene at the cafe. Powered."
