[MM2e] Salton City Needs Heroes! Episode 1: Premiere

"But how did they get in here in the first place? Is this how the other notes were delivered?"[/QUOTE]

"The others were sent through the mail, or at least dropped of at my home or at city hall." The Mayor finished opening the safe then took out several clear plastic bags (that each held a sheet of paper), then placed them onto the table.

"We can ask the city hall staff if they saw anyone around the office too. Are there cameras in the hall outside?"

"Yes, there are."

As the others inspect the clues Sven stands guard at the doorway, his bulging arms crossed across his chest, making sure the crowd around them kept out of the room.

"We can ask the city hall staff if they saw anyone around the office too. Are there cameras in the hall outside?"

"Yes, there are."

"To the camera room!" Max calls out, finger pointing dramatically out the door and a ridiculous grin plastered on his face. After a moment, he looks about. Having the good sense to blush, he adds, "Too much?"

The mayor lead the group towards City Hall's security office. Once there he asks the officer permission to review the footage from two cameras which overlook the Mayor's office. As you watch the footage, you begin to doubt that the footage could be used to identify the suspect since it is obvious that both of the cameras need to be cleaned and are severely out of focus. Never the less, you continue to watch just in case.

According to the footage, about ten minutes after the Mayor left the office, an individual who appears to be a lady wearing a dress, and holding a cane, slowly hobbled toward the Mayor's office. The lady knocked on the door then waited for several minutes before a passing man stopped to talk to her. After several seconds the man opened the office door and held it open as the lady hobbled into the office.

Once the lady was in the office, the man's attention was drawn away from her when a woman in a pantsuit walked passed him. The woman in the pantsuit appeared to trip and he quickly rushed to her side to help her before returning to the door, which slammed closed.

He then returned to the door and opened so that the lady could get leave the office. They then left going opposite directions.

The officer then scanned through the tape, making it certain the the only person to have entered the office was the lady who was wearing the dress.

"Master of disguise, maybe?" Max offers as he watches the tape. "So, do we think the super-duper-computer could enhance the picture quality here? And does anyone remember walking by someone in a pantssuit on the way in?"

OOC: For those who were keeping track of the time, the events on the video happened between 1:10 PM (when the Mayor left his office) through 1:25 PM (when the woman in the dress left the office)

"The old lady," Keiko mutters angrily. "The mind controller's pawn. Shimata!"

She turns away from the screen, furious with herself for forgetting her. Once the blinding had worn off, she'd simply continued with her mission. Who would ever have suspected a little old lady?

"Take the tape. We need to make sure nothing 'happens' to it. We can try to clean it up to see about the pantsuit woman, but we should also follow up on the old lady. Find out who she is. She may have memories about what happened, or who was controlling her."

After receiving the Mayor's order, the security guard ejected the video cassette then handed it to the group. Soon after, the group left the security office.

"I'm not sure if you want to test those other notes for finger prints or not. I took them to Police Chief Folkine and he said that the results of their primary investigation were inconclusive."

"Anyone could have left those other notes," Keiko says. "Lets see what we can get off the knife handle and this particular note left just now."

She pauses to scratch her chin thoughtfully.

"I don't know how to check fingerprints. I don't suppose any of you do?"
