[MM2e] Salton City Needs Heroes! Episode 1: Premiere

Max Freedman: Dord

"I don't know how to check fingerprints. I don't suppose any of you do?"

Max shakes his head.

"On that score, you gotta figure if the police couldn't match the prints, we wouldn't be able to?

"We have another issue: the note told the Mayor not to leave his office. So if we're taking this video back to the batca... er, HQ, we need to leave someone here to watch him, don't we?

"For that matter, if they really have his kids, where were the kids last? Maybe we can find better clues there?"

[sblock= "What Terrance knows..."]
There's a famous scene in BEVERLY HILLS COP II where fingerprints were lifted from a match book using: Super Glue and smoke from a Burnt Match. The theory is that the vapors from the glue causes sulfur from the burnt match to react with the amino acids in the fingerprints. This technique has been confirmed on MythBusters.

In CSI and on COPS they use some kind of power that they spinkle onto a surface then brush off. They also use some kind of clear tape to lift the fingerprint.

"On that score, you gotta figure if the police couldn't match the prints, we wouldn't be able to?

Mikael pondered for a moment, "It might be possible that they were confused by the results the received or they didn't look at the right database."

Max states, "We have another issue: the note told the Mayor not to leave his office. So if we're taking this video back to the batca... er, HQ, we need to leave someone here to watch him, don't we?"

"I'll stay behind with the mayor."

"For that matter, if they really have his kids, where were the kids last? Maybe we can find better clues there?"

"They were at my home in Desert Shores."

Sven stands out of the way, arms crossed on his giant chest, huge biceps bulging through the chainmail. Vi gø tø yür høme then? Sav yür chyld?

Max bites his lip a moment and nods.

"I think we need to verify that the kids are gone, at least. Mayor, can you call your home? I'd hate to go running off into who knows what trouble on nothing but a prank."

"My child? I don't see what my chil.. Oh, you mean Billy and Sally.. Yes, you need to go to my house and save them."

The Mayor frowned. "I could, but I'm not sure what good it would do since kids were home alone. Also, I don't think a prankster would hire a trained assassin and a bunch of thugs just to pull a fast one over public official."

"This is no prank," Keiko agrees. "But the house is the scene of the crime, so there may be clues there. At least one of us needs to stay here with the Mayor to guard him. We'll call the police too and have them take this knife and page as evidence."

She looks at Mr. TV. "If you can get prints, do it. The police might not share what they find with us. An old lady's body put this here under someone else's control. She may remember something useful if we can find her."

"Then the rest of us can go to the Mayor's home and take a look around to see what happened there."

Max nods. "Sounds like a plan to me. Pole's already volunteered to stay behind, so it's just a matter of printing if we can."

"Right! I'm on it" says Mr TV

"I'm only doing this to disprove fox's irrational theory of paranormal activity in this area"
"If we can appropriate some equipment from the local law enforcement that would help but I think I can make do"

Keiko nods and looks at the mayor.

"Call the police and tell them what you found." She nods at the Ten Foot Pole. "He'll stay here with you to make sure you're safe. The rest of us will go check out your house...see if we can find your children."

Desert Shores, About 30 Minutes Later
Desert Shores is an upscale gated community at the northern end of Salton City, and ideal place for Salton City's mayor to live. However, the Mayor does not live inside the community. The truth is that the mayor's house is a long one story ranch styled home that sits in the center of a double lot and faces the community's main gate.

It is obvious that the house was the scene of violence during the recent past. The home's bay window is boarded over, the facade is riddled with bullet holes, and it appears that a large section of the wooden fence that separates the front from the back yard had been pulled down.

OOC: Jump cuts are fun. You are also able to requisition a Evidence Kit from the Police Department. They of course want to take a look at the evidence gathered by the group. The Mayor also gave the group a copy of his home's key (so you could investigate inside if need be).

I guess the important question is, who wants to search where?
