Max Freedman: Dord

"Wow. And they still live here?" Max says, stunned at the state of the house.

"I guess we should start with the kids' rooms?"

Front Door
When the group approached the home's front door, they could tell that the door was slightly ajar. Immediately upon making the realization, Kitsune kinetically pushed the door open, preventing anyone's finger prints from being mistakenly placed onto the door handle. The home's front door opens onto the home's living room. On the opposite side of the home from the entrance, you can see a small dining room. To the right is a hallway. There is a draft going through the house as if a door or a window is open ahead of you...

Living Room
Their is a mess in the living room. Their are muddy footprints on the carpet and the room's coffee table was flipped over, with books and magazines scattered on the floor. The room has a faint musky livestock smell to it.

Kitsune Search:1d20+7=22

[sblock="Kitsune's Search"]
Kitsune notices some cloven hoop prints on the carpet before her more roguish nature gets a hold of her. She notices that the TV, a fairly expensive flat screen plasma, and other valuables were not stolen. On the mantle, she notices a picture of the Mayor and his two children who appear to between the ages of 8 - 12 (the eldest child being his son). She also notices two trophies on a near by shelf: SoCal Fair: Best of Show and San Diego Fair: Best of Show. Behind the trophies is picture of the Mayor posing with two small goats.

Viking Survival :1d20+4=17

[sblock="The Viking Search"]
The Viking smells a familiar scent as he enters the home which brings him back to a child hood memory. He then notices some small goat hoof prints on the carpet. The animal appears to have been moving erratically, like it was being hunted. Then it appears to look like it was dragging itself or was injured before the trail ended suddenly.[/sblock]

Mr. Tv's Investigation as Dana Scully:1d20+10=28
Mr. Tv's investigation analysis1d20+10=21

Mr Tv wanders around the living room and entrance way collecting evidence.
[sblock="Mr TV's investigation"]
He was able to lift four different sets of fingerprints, three sets on the door and one set on the coffee table. From the condition of the door, it was obvious to him that the suspects only used it as an exit point. The suspects most likely entered through the kitchen/dining room. The shoe prints are all from men's shoes and they were definitely chasing after the animal that made the cloven hoof prints. [/sblock]

The Mayor's son's Bedroom
Dord makes his way down the hallway deep into the home's interior. There is a trail of muddy tracks that lead into the first bedroom, which appears to be the bedroom of the Mayor's (preteen?) son.
Dord Notice: Taking 10 = 10.
Dord Search: 1d20+3=20

[sblock="Dord's Search"]
Except for the muddy foot and hoof prints, the room look extremely spotless and doesn't appear to be lived in, or at least not consistently. The footprints led to the closet, where they end.

"Hmm well it looks more like cattle rustlers than little green men, there is no evidence of the supernatural here, a case for the local law enforcement"

The curvy form morphs into an effervessent Austrailian

"Crikey! that sheila didn't no what she was on about now lets have a look at these tracks shall we" says Steve

Steve Irwin bends over and takes a look at the animal tracks

The tracks were definitely not created by a stingray or a crocodile. In fact, the cloven hoof prints were created by kid goat or an almost fully grown pygmy goat.

Max Freedman: Dord

Max gulps as he looks to the closet door. He didn't know what kind of beast might have been tromping around, but it might be in the closet right this minute.

Bracing himself, he takes hold of the closet door, and shrinks to his tougher 1' height as he pulls it open.

Keiko peers at the pictures curiously, then looks back at the...hoofprints? Goats, hmm? She reaches up to take the picture of the mayor and his kids...both the human ones, and the goat ones.

There it was again. That feeling. The people behind this were either very smart and playing towards an unknown end, or weirdly naive...

Or maybe this whole situation is something very different from how it looks.

Kids. Both human and goat. Keiko's eyes widened.

Fifty thousand dollars wouldn't be too much to pay for a pair of GOATS, would it? A bit much even, unless they were prize winners, say. You certainly wouldn't want them to be chopped up and served at the fair.

She started laughing.

"I knew I didn't trust that bastard," she says, wiping tears of mirth out of her eyes. "Still...that was a good one. I'll give him that."

Mayor's Son's Room (Closet)
Dord opened the door and immediately noticed a leather collar (or a bracelet?) lying on the ground. He could see a small metal tag attached to it, with text stamped onto it's visible face:

Mayor's House, Living Room
As everyone is standing dumb found at the goat realization, Mr. TV's phone began to ring. "Anya, this is Misha. If you are still interested, the boss has posted a new job for $15,000. The Details are posted on Craigslist' inland empire's wanted section. Look for Hot Russian Girl Wants Used Cars."

OOC: Let's assume that Mr. TV contacted Anya's 'contact' during the game's "missing hour..."

Max squinted at the sight. He made sure he had his costume's gloves on as he picked up the collar, to avoid mixing up fingerprints, then brought his find back to the others.

"Um ... I think 'kid' might mean something different than what we thought..." he says. As he notices Kitsune with the picture of goats and looks to the others, he realizes he's just arrived late to the game.

"Not sure if this fell of or was taken off," he says, quickly evading his obtuseness by holding up the collar. "But if it's the latter, maybe we can match prints to what we got in the Mayor's office?"
