Monk Minature Box Set (Q for MArtists)

Awseome ideas I like em.....I wish I could scan in the Shoalin Book I have. It has real pics and drawings of most of the forms.

It is called: Shaolin Kungfu Treasure of the Chinese Nation The Best of Chinese Wushu
ISBN7-80024-196-3 Published by the Shaolin Temple in Hunan

There are a number of poses that would be great for a dwarf, or gnome.

Later,
Darius

Drakmar:

This is great! I can't wait to see your finished products!

I agree with some of the folks that I see elves using more "soft" styles of martial arts, e.g., aikido, hap ki-do, jujitsu, etc., whereas I see half-orcs and dwarves using more "hard" styles, like karate, tae kwon-do, and thai kickboxing.

It sounds like you could just base a lot of your figures on various animal stances, like the crane, mantis, snake, etc. That would certainly be a good way to go.

If you want some more Chinese style stances, see if you can find the first book that Bruce Lee published, called Chinese Gung Fu: the philosophical art of self-defense. It has some nice B&W photos in it (some rather dark) of him and his students in various classical wing-chun poses and moves.

Good luck, and again, keep us posted on how this project progress!

Best wishes,

Collin
