Monster Manual 2

Any playtesters out there?? Can anyone comment on this yet, you don't even have to break your NDA. I know it's supposed to focus on CR 10-20 monsters, does it have any small things (CR1 and under)? What's the distribution of new vs. converted creatures? What's everyone _want_ for that distribution?

Is the dharculus in there???? It's my favorite, and oh-so-obscure. That's what I'd like to see most.

And a good conversion of the quickling- it needs more than an extra partial action each round, it should have a movement rate of 240' for goodness sake!

And has anyone seen any of the art yet? Is it any good? Any chance for Errol Otus??

Anyway, here's hoping someone will help me with my poor questions...

Can't comment on what's in it, but I can tell ya what isn't. Monsters found in the upcoming ToH aren't in the MM2 or the BoVD and vice versa. We (Clark and I) worked very closely with WotC to avoid any duplication of efforts. They were very cool about it all.

I can tell ya what's in our book though....here is a list:

Click the "Big Update- ToH Contents" thread for the Table of Contents.

I'm hoping for about 80% CR 10-20+ creatures and 20% 1-10 CR.

I think the game needs the higher CR creatures, but in my opinion having a small mix of some smaller CR creatures would also make it a better, well-rounded product.

Have to disagree. I realize a straight conversion would yield such a speed, but I, like WotC does in their conversions, decided not to go that route for balance reasons. Plus, I even enlisted the comments and aid of a few WotC designers for feedback on that particular conversion and all stood in agreement with me.... 240 ft per round was out of whack for the quickling. :D

I dunno... it's so fast you can't always even see it.

I like the idea of the quickling having two full round's worth of actions each round at two seperate initiatives.

You know I noticed that the obscure Tirapheg isn't the ToH's list of monsters, does that mean that strange three-headed, three-armed and three-legged humanoid creature from the original Fiend Folio will actually be appearing in the Monster Manual 2? Or was it not in both books because it was too weird?
