1. Oh, poop! That's my character's favorite spell! I think it's my mistake from when Storm Sorcerer was in Unearthed Arcana!
2. I believe that I first did the level 12, then Sorcerer, then it had me choose Storm, and then spells, and then the error.
4. Ah, I see -- Flatten also turns off Mods, but does not turn Mods back on when I press Flatten a second time. That was non-intuitive. Could the colored toggle buttons un-color themselves or something when they are disabled?
Also, for languages, it just shows the text "+2 for Adept" (for example). Is the intent to just delete that text and add the other languages by manually typing, or am I missing some clever macro / pulldown thing?
I've been using ForgedAnvil's Excel character generator (which I do like), and I'm not sure yet if I'll make the switch to yours yet. Having the Volo's races in it is what is tempting me.
2. With your workflow of how you added the sorcerer I found the error in my code, which only happens when you directly go from level "blank" to a high enough level that warrants ASI. I will have this fixed in the next version, thank you for reporting it!
4. The buttons in the 'JavaScript Window' do actually show that they are
pressed while active. However, while this was very visible in Adobe Acrobat XI, but a lot less clear in DC. At least that is my experience on Windows, I don't know how it looks on Mac. The buttons also appear in the bookmarks, but only if you are using Adobe Acrobat Pro can de code change the bookmarks, so I didn't make a feature for the bookmarks to show which one is active.
The languages thing is already explained by
@pdegan2814. There is no fancy hidden macro/pulldown, just you writing in the languages you want. The "+2 from adept" is there just as a reminder what the background gives you. Languages and tools are intentionally not drop-down boxes because I want these things to not feel constrained. And yes, I could make them drop-down boxes that you can still write anything you want into (as most of the drop-down boxes on this sheet), but I understand that most people don't look any further when they can use a drop-down box and especially tools is something that you should be very creative with!
I hardly know of anybody who switches between ForgedAnvil an my generator. From what I understand, the general consensus from people who like ForgedAnvil's generator is that it is more user friendly/intuitive. I hope you understand it is much easier to make something more intuitive when you have separate pages to fill stuff out than where you display the end results. I am very interested to hear your opinion on what can be improved.
Also, don't forget that besides the Volo races, my sheet comes with the option to add in any Unearthed Arcana material. See the
"Fan-made Additions"-Dropbox folder for this. (The "Get Additional Content" bookmark links to this Dropbox folder as well.)
