Hope all goes back to normal as fast as possible!

It's not something that would come back is it?

For me things are pretty much back to normal. What persistent problems I have I won't learn until I get a comprehensive neurological examination. I expect small scale clumsiness, something exercises should correct.

Recurrence? Not likely. Each stroke in a singular event. You don't relapse from a stroke. At the same time, you are not made immune to strokes just by having one. Thus more can occur. And if the conditions that led to the first still pertain, you must likely will.

I'm lucky for a man of my weight and habits that I'm so damn healthy. But even so...

So if you feel inexplicably weak on one side, or your speech slurs, make sure to tell somebody. Once you're feeling better you can come and boast about your experience here. :)

Isn't "mild stroke" an oxymoron?

Not really. Sometimes the effects are devastating and long lasting. In my case the effects, while initially devastating, were rather short lived. What is known as a transient event. They said there was some lasting effects, but I haven't really noticed anything. I expect there was some long lasting damage, but it'll take testing to discover that.

I was lucky. A comparatively small part of my brain was affected. It could've been a much larger part, to worse effect. Even so, I was treated as if I was on the verge of death. And frankly, in another location that clot could have been fatal.

So I've pretty much recovered. You may not be that lucky. So treat any stroke as if it was a major event, just to be safe.

Glad to hear you came through it ok, Mythusmage. Stick with the physical therapy and I suspect you'll do well.
