Hi Ltheb mate! :)

I just gave it a look over.

The portfolios section is a bit easier to read and understand now, though you might want to include a blurb about what (x2 HD) or (immunities only 50% effective) means. Not everyone who will use ascension will read these forums :).

What I need to do is rework the 2 pages immediately before the portfolios, so that it better explains some of the nuances, rather than having to explain it with each individual portfolio.

The action summery is very convenient however. (Though perhaps you may want to list the "reflect" defense as always active, and include a note that any of the portfolio bonuses (but not penalties) may be 'turned off' at will. (Unless they can't, of course, or if it makes it too complicated).

Indeed. I'll do that in the portfolio description 2 page section.

Also, for the Double Ignore Cosmic String weakness - 2 artifacts eh? You may want to include a blurb about what criteria the artifacts need to meet. (Ex must represent the opposed portfolio, or wielded by your antithesis, or DM makes one up, etc) Though, this might better be covered in grimoire.

Again, I'll squeeze these into the description pages immediately before the portfolio templates.

Hey dante mate! :)

So much to edit so little time. But you did great on what you have so far.

Ive noticed though that the demiurge needs a lot of work.

Alas a designers work is never done.

Tell me about it.

Speaking of which...when can we expect Gods and Monsters...getting twitchy. The left half of my brain is screaming for a vampire. Mayhaps if it's done you could email it to me?

If it was done I'd have it on sale! :p

Ahoy matey! :)

Seriously, though. The portfolio tables are clean and neat;

I agree, glad you like them.

I like that we get to see the Bogeyman in G&M. :)

Among others. ;)

Are you solid on your 6 day deadline, or can we expect another two weeks between now and then. :P

I'm pretty confident. I should have had all the text done about 15 days ago*, but I just got distracted by other aspects of the IH and let the Ascension text sit on the shelf for a week or so. I'll just concentrate on the text between now and Tuesday and I should get everything sorted. There are no real complications at this stage.

*try 150 days ago you bozo! :o

Hey WarDragon dude! :)

Portfolio tables look good, barring a few typos, and the glaring lack of most of them. I kind of miss the detail that the old version went into, though.

I do think the old versions were (certainly in terms of layout though) a bit misleading.

I am half torn on the name changes.

I will try and explain the more paraphrased powers in the Portfolio description section of the book.

But overall I think the good outweighs the bad with regards the new portfolio format.

And I do not see why everyone on the Internet has turned a bunch of parasitic corpses into fetish objects, I really don't.

If it attracts sexy goth chicks who's complaining. :p

Craft Pariah would look less silly and forced if you appended something like 'Their value becomes purely aesthetic'. It's still one of the most tenuous portfolio oppositions, but this would soften the blow.

Because they are good-looking and unaging parasitic corpses.

The whole 'horrid murderous beast' thing is just silly nitpicking.

So U_K, will the Bogeyman be like how he was depicted in The Nightmare Before Christmas, or how he appeared in The Real Ghostbusters? ;)

All joking aside though, the portfolio tables look good, particularly in regards to now having stacking weaknesses as a few divine ranks. That makes things more interesting, though it still doesn't seem to match your listing for having one weakness per three divine abilities that you list in the beginning of that chapter.

Hey Phantom Llama dude! :)

As I see it, the difference between them is work and play, but I can see how, from certain perspectives, the opposition is tenuous.

Hey Alzrius mate! :)

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. :p

True, but what I have done instead is front load the weaknesses so you get 2/3rds at the start. I think the starting weaknesses are slightly more powerful than the powers. So overall it maybe evens out.

Hey all! :)

Meant to say I have been contemplating changing the Legendary [Ability Score] Cosmic Abilities from doubling a score to instead giving a benefit of +60.

This would be really simply to apply VSCs because all you would need to do would be quadruple the base damage.

Any thoughts?

Cool as far as VSCs and base damage go (it speeds up quick deity creation a bit), but what about Total [Ability]. It is a much stronger power. Perhaps Legendary [Ability] could become a prerequisite for Total [Ability]? Filling a transient power slot with all 6 Total [Ability] powers quickly make combat against you impossible.

That said, I really, really like the Total [Ability] powers. Legendary could indeed be +60, but that doesn't seem very creative. I mean, I could just take 6 divine slots worth of Total Strength, which would net me +36 strength, and, while this is better, is about the same flavor wise. Perhaps if they came with some other *minor* benefits, like you always can "take 20" on ability score checks or skill checks related to that ability, they would seem cooler.

I like the Legendary powers because they change the game in extreme ways. If it's just changed to +X to Y, then they lose a bit of their luster, and start looking like Mega Feats. (Which in reality they are, but the less apparent that is, the cooler it is)
