D&D (2024) New One D&D Weapons Table Shows 'Mastery' Traits

The weapons table from the upcoming Unearthed Arcana playtest for One D&D has made its way onto the internet via Indestructoboy on Twitter, and reveals some new mechanics. The mastery traits include Nick, Slow, Puncture, Flex, Cleave, Topple, Graze, and Push. These traits are accessible by the warrior classes.

I dint think so. 5e being the primary example of good design put to good use making a D&D game. Imho.
The question is what 5e is good design for.

IMHO, 5e is great design for beginners, children and beer and pretzels players. But it is too light or loose in some places and hard coded in others for experienced, narrative, or simulationist players.

It came of as bad wrong fun and a jab. And a broad brush to befoul any counter discussion. I also think you know it.
Yes. It was a jab at the bad design I was already jabbing at.

If there's something personal about you that made you feel it was targeted at you, I am genuinely sorry, but I absolutely loathe that piece of design philosophy with every fiber of my person and have not been particularly quite about it elsewhere.

Not personal no. But it poisons discussion and I must add I think it hampers your pov and discussion.
