New Warlock Pacts

How about a pact with a small talking animal, (fluff ball, animated object, etc) = magical girl (like sailormoon), = for mid battle costume changes and far to short skirts?

Why oh why did you replace the chocolate that was in my peanut butter with horrible horrible tang?

Also, 4E is way too anime

I think "Feral" may fill the totem route, given that it's described as Feral.

But then, I'm hoping for a Shaman class that deals with spirits.

What is this Feral of which you speak?

Regarding the bloat issue:

I had been thinking this would be more akin to domains then prestige classes.

As a side note - we know clerics and wizards get rituals, has that been confirmed for Warlocks as well?
I'd expect all classes to be able to perform rituals (with different levels of difficuly, of course)

Pacts with Totems = Shamans = some animal benefits, spirit/beast realm nastiness, and rituals to do with totemic empowerment.
I'd love something like this. One of my favorite classes is the druid, and this pact could mimic one.
Mostly, I hope the designers puch suficient variety in each class, so that players can use less typical classes to create some specific character concept. Like, being able to create a necromancer or a druid using the warlock, wizard or cleric.

As has been said a lot, I expect in the future a "good" pact, like Angelic, or Archon.

Having more Pacts is a good way to have variety. Well, only if not all warlords get "Soul Ruin", and there's many different powers to each pact.

I think the biggest limitation on "Hey, new pact!" will be the fact that the Warlock is a striker. Re-theme it however you wish, the Warlock is about bringing a lot of hurt to one particular enemy. That's the narrow concept you have to work with.

For instance, I loved the Sha'ir, but his AD&D Al'Qadim incarnation seems more like a Controller to me. And historically he seems like a Leader / re-themed Bard.

I think we're going to see classes that have "pacts" that are not Warlocks. At least, I sure hope so. I'd love to see an Elric-like class, which is clearly more Martial than the Warlock. Heh heh. Though perhaps Elric is just a Paladin of Chaos with a badass sword. :)

The very first article on Warlocks (last September?) said there were three pacts: Infernal, Shadowy, and Feral. We're assuming that means Devils, Shadowfell somethings, and Wild Hunt-like Fey.

R&C said something about very Primitive fey.

My interpretation: Not like some high powerful Eladrin noble or something, but maybe like, the essence of Winter or something.

Pacts with dieties, dragons, celestials, elementals, Far Realms critters, totem animals, place spirits or vestiges also seem like possibilities.

Vestiges, in particular, could evoke an Houngan-style Warlock, who calls some sort of spiritual presence into himself to fuel his warlock abilities, and calls up another spirit within himself to invoke a different ability.

Most of this could be handled with light or no mechanical changes, merely flavor text. I played a Daelkyr Half-blood Warlock who had a very Far Realms feel to his invocations with no mechanical changes at all. His Summoned Swarms looked like alien critters (spinning floating starfish-looking critters instead of bats, for instance), but used the same rules.

I've thought of the Warlock as the best place for the new Druid for a while now. A person makes a pact with the very essence of nature in his soul. His invocations might summon local animals, allow him to trap enemies in the ground or trees, or just transform into different animals with his pacts improving the animal form. Strikers are all about doing damage, and you can't get better than turning into a magically enhanced bear.
