New Year, New Gear

I've been a big fan of Jon Kammerer's guitars for the last few years- I own 2 hollowbodies, a semi-hollow, and an acoustic of his- and he recently announced he was having a sale.

I figured five was a nice number...so I committed to buying a maple baby with Trem- a first for me. All of my other electrics are hardtails. I haven't gotten it yet, but got the email confirming he's set it aside while finalize the puchase. Here's a link to it's image:

(FWIW, still plenty of good ones left!)

And many, many more...

None of which am I! I was talking about this puchase over at Guitarplayer.com and pointed out that since this will be my first guitar with a tremolo, I'll finally have an excuse for sucking! ;)

Three is a better number. Feel free to send me two guitars--your choice of which to send! I sold my electric and amp several years ago and only have an acoustic and a classical left.

I don't know how to mail stuff anymore, and my guitars won't fit on my FIOS connection. :)

Check out his site if you're a player- his sale is pretty major. Some of his acoustics go for $2K+, and he has some on clearance right now for as low as $1250! He uses a parabolic body shape so his acoustics project a little bit more than you'd expect...his thinlines sound like midsized guitars, and his full sized ones positively boom. I have a walnut thinline one similar to the topmost left on this page:

What I want, though, is to have one of his new headless full-sized AE basses with the feedback buster f-holes- currently on sale as well- as a 6-string baritone guitar. I get one like THAT and I'll tune it to Robert Fripp's New Standard Tuning- CGDAEG- down two steps to AEBFCE. *rUmBle RuMbLe*

Where is the photo of you pretending to go all power chords on it? :P (Or whatever the appropriate term is...)

while a plurality of my axes are Ibanez, I haven't specifically sought out one vendor.

Though I like my purple RG-470 with a floyd-rose bridge and my Kurbow bass.

I haven't gotten into hollow or semi-hollow bodies. I need more time to play my axes, they be getting dusty.

There's a series of ResoMax NVS print ads that play on this, featuring pictures of guys making a guitar face while playing. The first one I saw said "There are only 2 reasons to make this face. We can help you with one."

I haven't specifically sought out one vendor.

I can't say I started off that way, and you should see my wish list...but Jon keeps coming to me with such great guitars at great prices that I keep bumping them to the front of the queue. For instance, I'd love to add a Vigier Surfreter, Phantom Teardrop, Seagull 12, Fernandes Ravelle and a pair of Carvin SH550s w/Bigsbys to my stable, but Jon keeps cutting in line!

(And no, I don't think my skill level warrants such expenditures...)
