Silverblade The Ench
First Post
When 3rd ed game out, Pools of Radiance2 was eager to tell us it was "the first computer game ot use 2rd ed rules!"
Likewise, didn't previous games do that for 2nd ed, hm? (Pools of Darkness?)
Soooooo....where's the 4th ed D&D computer game? *crickets chirp*
What has happened, that 4th ed, another major milestone in D&D's life, has no computer game to show it off?
I'm still playing Tmeple of Elemental Evil, for pity's sake, as the last, best D&D game!!! That's over 4years old!! It was a superb game, just let down by Atari (again).
(Don't mention D&D Online, ick)
Neverwinter Nights2 is the last D&D game made, and while good, it's still not turn based, as many of us want. It has sold very well, the market is there for such games.
As, alas, a perpetual DM, I want my fix of D&D goodness, so I have to rely on computer games. So I'm miffed, however, the fact that I haven't heard of ANY new D&D computer games in a while, is scary....what is going on?
Is it due to Atari being in the pits, but still refusing to give up or pass on the D&D license?
I know a huge amount of us geeky nerd-types
own, run, work in etc computer games companies, and thus plenty of folk I'm sure want to work on and make D&D games.
Go check the art work that's out there, for example (seen some jaw dropping fantasy art Zbrush work)
So, what gives? Why no 4th ed heralding game? :/
