ooc: Right, on your action, you can take a grapple check since your already grappled. You can choose to do several things from it if you would win, but you have to choose before you find that out. The two main choices for you would be to either: Break free of a grapple on a successful check, or do damage to it on a successful check. Normally, most people would want out of the grapple, but if you pick the damage result, you would do normal unarmed damage (1d4+2 nonlethal) plus your armor spikes (1d6+2 physical). Since it's undead, the nonlethal is ignored so it's just the physical. Rys will roll his half of the opposed whenever he gets around to it. Hopefully a 21 is good, I think these critters are special grapplers...

yeah- i thought that during a grapple i would get an opposed roll. I believe i could also draw a dagger as a move action correct? (btw i'm at work so i don't have books in front of me)

(OOC: These guys are indeed very special grapplers (thank WotC for that) which when melded effectively have you grappled but they themselves are not considered grappled by the melded person (though they do still lose Dex to AC against other people). Thus, Hasin is actually rolling to establish a grapple. Fortunately, you deal damage when establishing a grapple anyway, so his damage still would stand...Unfortunately, while 21 is very high and makes the undead work hard to beat you, it did still beat it, so no luck)

*Quozen prepares to aid Valan's next attempt to escape. Hasin, meanwhile, makes a good effort to rake the undead with his armour spikes, but since it is actually melded into his flesh, it manages to barely wriggle out of the way. Then the two undead manage to pin Valan and Hasin both for one round while siphoning away their healthy flesh and the power of their essence. Gloria nervously follows in Quozen's example, attempting to aid Valan in escaping the creature's grasp.*

(OOC: Being pinned means no chance to establish your own grapple this round and try to get them off or attack (the only thing you can do is try to break the pin, which is almost pointless since it ends after a round anyway).

Also, Valan takes 1 point of temporary Charisma damage and Hasin takes 2 points of temporary Charisma damage

Dorrin goes here, followed by everyone else and then the monsters, so everyone can post actions)

(OOC: I dunno. It's possible, but from looking at the current situation, I think you're going to kill these things eventually shortly after probably having Hasin knocked out but maybe not Valan because Valan has decent Charisma. The crucial aspect is that the new spawned ones share the HP of the one that spawned them, so for instance, you'll probably hit the one on Hasin once more before it finishes him and then it will spawn another, but both will be near destruction. I guess you don't know how low in HP these guys are, so you don't have my perspective ;))

Last useful one... Dorrin thinks before he channels more holy power into his hands and slams the creature holding Hasin. Clearly however, he is dragging the bottom of the barrel as the holy power seems to be running out.

ooc:Last Channeled CLW (1d20+3=17, 1d8+2=4) Wow, so it's a special critter that doesn't get the -20 for acting normally while grappled??!! I don't think I've ever even read about something like this... That's bad...

And just so you know Ethandrul, go Here for the complete set of SRD books

(OOC: It's sort of a hybrid--it's melded into the person's body, so it does still lose its Dex bonus, and it does still have to make a grapple check to move and all that. Functionally, the only difference is that it takes two successful grapple checks to pin it (and a pin is required to tear it out, causing damage).

*Dorrin damages Hasin's assailant one more time, weakening it even more still.*

(OOC: Creature melded with Hasin takes 3 Damage, total 25

Quozen, Valan, Jace yet to go)
