ya know, these heals are great and all- but for the love of gods! Grapple them and pull it off !

Valan watches in horror as some start pulling at the beast on him. Knowing, from experience, that these creature are too strong. KILL THE DWARF'S I'M FINE. Valan lies and tries to pull it off enough to do anything. Valan tries to escape the pin. (1d20+3=10) and fails miserably.

OoC: All ready going to suggest that. At least it won't be a TPK since they don't kill. It'll be a TPK when were all coma'd out. And some other beasty comes looking for a snack.

(OOC: Not much we can do if a 21 can't grapple them... AND they're undead, so they're immune to nonlethal attacks... 5HD undead with spawning, secondary way to cause damage, and an extra-strong attack on that method of damage, that's about CR 4. Two of them, that's ECL 6... 7 players, APL 2, approximate party level 3, -1 for mostly fatigued... That's party level +4. Yep, TPK is a possibility.)

"Gloria! What spells do you have? And perhaps a turning is in order anyway?"

Quozen looks over the Valan meld. "I'm sorry, Valan..." he says as he tentatively--and failingly--scissor-kicks him.

1d20+2=4, 1d6+1=4

(OOC: It's an opposed check--a 21 can usually grapple them. Also, don't underestimate the value of having three clerics against undead and having full resources to start the fight when calculating the difficulty (you turned 1 of the 2 before it melded, remember). In playtest, you never lost to these guys, though admittedly as a group you've been rolling abysmally badly in general this fight

Jace's turn and then the undead)

ooc: I agree, our luck sucked so far... Hopefully, everyone lives through the less pleasent ways of us getting the undead off.

i am not opposed to taking a big hit from a weapon if that is what it takes- just don't crit.

hee hee hee get the undead off...

*Jace misses badly as well.*

*Meanwhile, the critically wounded undead on Hasin manages to drain the dwarf into a dreamless stupor, and so it detaches and, much like a cancerous tumor polyp growing at a disturbing and disgusting rate, once again it spawns and launches another kite made of flesh. Of course, both are horribly wounded with punctured and damaged skin.*

*Valan's melded undead steals a bit more skin from Valan too, not enough to make the Cleric unconscious, but enough to unmeld and spawn a new kite, which it does*

"That was my only direct attack spell," Gloria admits.

(OOC: Valan loses 2 Charisma, Hasin loses 4 and is in a coma. There are now four undead, all quite badly hurt, especially the two in the air near Hasin.

Dorrin's turn, then Quozen, Valan, Jace)
