Glad you made it over to this thread, takyris! Your ideas sound good.
As for holding it in a gameshop, well, a couple reasons come to mind.
1 - Neutral ground. No one has to bring a dozen or so people they only know from the internet into their home.
2 - It's a good way to make ties with local gamestores.
Of course, if someone has a bunch of empty office space to offer up, I'll play there!
