• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

OMG, I just had the funnest session of my entire life!

Heh, sounds like a fun game, though I'll admit furries aren't exactly my cup of tea. Well, unless they're the Turtles. But they wouldn't be furries, they'd be scalies. Umm.

My advice concerning the Nazi rodent... Kill him. And eat the evidence.

This begs the important question:
What do you get when you cross a Lynx and a Wolf?

Sounded like a fun game! I've got to try one of these Anthropomorhic games one day. Maybe I'll finally get to play a Catgirl...

Hmm. You made me recall a catgirl race I wrote up and posted in House Rules once, long ago... That would be my other exception to furries, then. Say, that race has never been playtested... ;)

I'd really like to playtest it, but none of my group are interested enough in anime or furry stuff to have it. Which is a shame, because it seemed like a really good race.:(

That we'd do, unless the DM wasn't protecting the squirrel with his divine abilities. And according to the DM Goebbels might turn out to be useful... yeah, maybe as a trap-springer, when we "accidentally" leave the 10-foot pole at home.

Well, our DM belongs to the school of thought that believe in furries of different species being able to crossbreed. Maybe in time we'll see the result of a Lynx/Wolf crossbreed. :D

I've got the same problem, my group seems to be anti-anime to the extreme. They won't even let me play an elven chick with a huge sword. (inspired by one of the pictures in the Art Forums) :(

Ouch. :(
At least with my group, Elven chicks with giant swords is cool. Chainmail Bikinis take it over the top, though...

When you described your party, I was surprised by how similar it was to what my players are playing:

female lynx-lady ranger
male tiger-man paladin
female owl-lady druid
male wolf-man rogue

(Plus our other PCs: male lizard-man fighter, male human alchemist (wizard variant), male elf bard, male elf sorcerer, male human cleric. We used the Animen race from the Mythic Races book by FFG.)

And by the way, annoying NPCs can be one of the funnest aspects of the game. The fact that yours is also a follower is really interesting. Your GM must have a lot of talent!

I have nothing to contribute to this thread other than saying that it's weird to see myself being quoted in every other post here.

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I'll have to agree, an annoying NPC can be one of the funnest aspects of the game, as long as it's run as more comic relief than anything else. The DM didn't run Goebbels like this. Goebbels was annoying, not in the silly way that some people call kender and gully dwarves annoying, but plain irritating. Openly insulting the group, making decisions that defied our morals (like killing the guards that we had interrogated. Sorry Goebbels, that's just not our cup of tea!) and just being a plain bastard. I've never hated an NPC before in my entire life, but Goebbels is just so plain annoying and useless that he deserves to be hated.

Oh, and I also figured out the meaning for Goebbels. He's, in addition to being the DM's pet, his railroading tool. When our characters are straying off their path, Goebbels will be there to "suggest" what to do next. But, of course, Ragnar won't listen to the annoying squirrel. If I can manipulate the rest of the group into not doing anything that Goebbels suggests, we should be able to tick off the DM. And the DM feels quite strongly about making this a long-term campaign, so he wouldn't kill our characters just because we don't like his pet NPC. And if he does, he's just lost a campaign because he wouldn't believe the players on the umpteenth time they shouted "We're gonna kill Goebbels!"

All of you are playing carnivores, and you have an owl as well. The only discussion you should be having about Goebbels is 'White wine or red?'
