(OOC) The Dog Days of Doom

Am I right that we think the last beacon is through the door they are trying to get past? If I am wrong about that, then what Anson is about to do is ill-motivated.

In any case, two failed attempts at conversation is enough to convince me this is going to need something more, and it may be a fight.

I need to comment on this again,

There is a beacon IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS ROOM.

They are ignoring it and focused on a magically sealed door at the other end of the room.

Hey @TaranTheWanderer

My bad for not catching that it takes a round for allies inside the illusion to catch it’s an illusion and see through it. I’ll modify Benny’s actions, the goal is to block line of sight for the theflings, so Benny will create an illusory wall instead.
Benny can see through the illusion right away, right?
Cheers

Sg

Edit, cancel that, let’s just go with it. Sorry guys, I didn’t mean to cancel your actions.

I’m trying to remember what we decided. You need to interact with it to disbelieve it. I think it typically takes an action but since you guys expect it, you don’t need to spend an action.

I think? I’ll have to go through this thread.

Yeah, since it was cast with the others directly in the fog cloud, I’m pretty sure we agreed that it’s an auto interaction and they see through it. Fine if it takes one round, but hadn’t talked about that (or maybe I didn’t catch that, quite possible).

If I understand properly illusion mechanics (and I’m sure I do) the concept of disbelief doesn’t really exist. You can known it’s an illusion, but can’t see through it unless you interact with it. Dm judgement if one sees someone else interacting with the illusion (ex, archer shooting an arrow through an illusory wall would be interacting so sees through it, but onlooker perhaps would also qualify). We discussed that a fog cloud would be trickier since the cloud would behave as a normal cloud, so the interaction would need to be more direct.

Know that Ill abide by your decision, just keep in mind that my character doesn’t have a lot of other tricks: these illusions, an op squishy familiar that can be recalled faster than normal, 12 thp easily accessed, and some cantrips. I built him to offer some battlefield control to the party.
Cheers,

Sg
