D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Yah, I don't have much in terms of ranged attacks, but I am good coming up to back you up, but I expect the rush from her guards. I can feel the hurt just thinking about it... :p

I guess the business with the guards will depend on who's backing us up and how many guards she has. It may well be mooks keepin other mooks busy while the three of us ignore them and try to take her out. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I would be glad if someone else takes Erevans place before the priestess. The rogue is more effective with his bow and arrows.

He's got only one spell slot left for today, so that will be Disguise Self. He can cast cantrips, though. Friends can make a big difference, convincing a guard to defend Erevan.

Unfortunately the hour for Disguise Self will be up so Erevan will have to cast it again.

He doesn't have to be beside Blopp to get advantage on an attack. If he has surprise he will have it (re: surprise house rules) as long as his init roll is higher than hers. If he is initiating the fight his init will automatically be 20. Everyone else will roll.

If someone else is beside his target he can still get SA damage.

Don't forget cunning action gives him some defensive options should he decide to be in a more precarious position.

Oh shoot, I just went back and re-read the surprise house rules. I'd forgotten that the surprised condition means disadvantage on dex saves. Regardless of whether it's Ez or I up front, let's let Orsik act first with Faerie Fire, since that takes a dex save. If he could get Blopp with that hopefully one or both of you could land a crit.

Ez will volunteer to be up front. If he gets that critical hit, he will be the most effective.

Though he just nods at Erevan's latest comment, he is expecting that the betrayal will not come until his sister is downed. We should have an exit strategy. We definitely need to make it back to camp and out, if things go South. Ezraen will not leave the others behind.

Ok.

Tbh though I don't see fleeing as a realistic exit strat. We can't leave without the food and boats, and it's not like we can load all that food in a hurry. We don't even know where the boats are. We may have to fight Glugg too, but just running? No point. Village full of hostiles on both sides.

Was just about to ask if we have seen any...
SunGold, what are you thinking? Take out the leaders and intimidate them into honoring their agreement?

I think we're speculating too far ahead when we have no idea what's coming up. Let's get to this Blopp fight and go from there. :)
