[OT] How do I create a Flash Movie?

Hi all!

I'm sorry about the OT topic, though in a way it is on-topic.

I'm interested in making a flash movie for my campaign website. Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding a good tutorial, and tell me what software I'll need?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You'll need a version of Flash, which unfortunatly costs quite a bit of money... $300+ I think.

"Warezmonkey"...? Yeesh. It's words like these that remind me how long I've been out of the U.S. I have no connection to current lingo.

$300+, huh? I'd gone to a flash website (I did try to do my own research! ) and wasn't sure, but now that you say that, what I saw makes sense.

*sigh*

I suppose my flash movie isn't meant to be, then. I thought it might be cool, but not $300+ worth of cool!

Go to Swish.com, much easier to use than flash, and almost as effective, and besides that, ITS FREE.

I use Swish alot, it is very easy to use, and great for text editing.

You can download it and use it for free fror 30 days (I think... at least you used to be able to do that). It comes with a VERY good tutorial, or you could go to http://www.webmonkey.com and look up their tutorial.

If you DL the older version Swish 1.0, its better, and I dont think they are charging for it. And the Trial Version still works on my computer, and its been way way more than 30 days. Plus there is always Morpheus or Kazah, if your into that sort of thing.

Other people have suggestions, but I'd also add that some other programs can also output flash files... like freehand and some other graphics program. Perhaps a quick glance at some of the shareware sites might get you a low cost alternative to flash.
