[OT] If you order from Reaper Minis, you might want to cancel your credit card.

I feel sorry for you guys. Remind me to talk with James from RPGNow to make sure he's fully secure there.

I do find it a little odd that they'd send you your own credit card info in the email. How could that possibly help?

That is odd. You should NEVER EVER send CC info via email. (unless they blanked more of the number out with stars, etc).

They also mispelled "Miniatures".

They only sent my expiration date with the email. My full number wasn't listed, only the type and expiration date.

It's legit. It's on their webpage.

Did they send actual card numbers, or did they just say "your card is a Visa that expires on 05/2004"? The former would be really dumb, while the latter would be a way of letting the customer know which card was on file w/the company, and is thus at risk.

That's exactly what they did. No card numbers.
On their home page, they said the same group is threatening Wal-Mart and Amazon too.

Theres nothing on Amazons site about it

And? I say "Huzzah!" for Reaper Miniatures. I would expect, if Amazon is targeted, they would stonewall the public and deny everything. That's just what soul-less corporations do.

Yea got a call and an e-mail too and just cancelled card. I am really glade they are handling it this way. I would rather they did this than pay those bastards. 'corse I would rather not have to do this at all... but this is the new world with new pirates. At least they are fighting them the best they can.

Aargh let's cancel the scurvy dogs! They won't be takin' none of our booty this day!

(called all my friends that have made reaper purchases by CC to make sure they got this, thanks!)

I haven't purchased anything from Reaper, but I do shop online. Is there a link listing other companies hit in this attack - beyond the comment on the Reaper page about Amazon and Microsoft?

Thanks

Yea, I doubt you'll hear a word about it from Amazon or Wal-Mart. Bad publicity.

I'm pretty happy with Reaper. The email was nice, but getting the phone call impressed me. Despite this, I've got no problem giving them another order. Just goes to show what good customer relations is worth.
