My info is from the radio, also. The song is a little before my time. I did not know she was ever involved with Warren Beaty. She and James taylor have a kid(s) though, and did not speak for many years.

I think Warren Beaty was involved with many beautiful women in the seventies (when the song was written). Sounds to me like you've got the stronger story though, so I go with your version.

This reminds me of something else actually — someone on the boards, I can't remember who, has a signature that runs something like "Love will tear us apart," and every time I see it, all I can think about is the Captain and Tenille. *shudders* Oh well, back to work...
