Paladins

I am bored, so decided to start a thread on paladins.

Discuss them. Or die.

(PS: Don't ask what the smily is for. You won't get an understandable answer.)

Paladins are fun to use with good PCs who aren't 100% good. I have the Paladins recognize the goodness in the PCs so they don't try to kill them, just bring them all the way to the side of good.

I like Paladins and I like Blackguards. I just prefer to keep the two far apart.

Right. Well I like paladins IF they seem more like paladins than just "holy warriors" to some. Certain settings are guilty of that...

I don't like Paladins. Too noisy in the full-plate and riding that heavy warhorse.

I'm currently running a paladin of a goddess of Retribution, who happens to be an orphan, is officially supposed to behead people for a living, is a recovering drunk & tends to be a bit of a womaniser. He also smote the party half-ogre fighter last week because the latter started a fight and attacked a deputy in a town they were in. Not the traditional knight in shining armor at all.

Does that count as a contribution to the discussion?
