[Pathfinder] Scotley's Kingmaker IC continued.

Pixie opens the bag, and a moment later a shadow falls over her as Kyria takes up a spot where she can keep an eye on her.

She gives Pixie a nod, inviting her to proceed with the looting.

Rhote waits a bit away from the rest. Let them get hit by the cobra likely left inside that sack for would-be thieves. If no one is harmed when it is open, he'll be more comfortable reading the map when the others are done.

Pixie determines that the bag appears to contain the spoils of war. Within are 12 Small spears, 193 cp, 120 sp, and 32 gp. The 'map' proves to be a meticulous model of the local terrain. It seems to show this lair under the tree as a tangle of branches while there is a small pile of bloodstained rocks that seem to represent the Kobold tribe's cave. Studying the map should make it fairly easy to find the Sootscales' lair (DC14 Geography check). The statue should be fairly valuable (250 gp). The paper weighed down by the statuette is written in charcoal in Undercommon,

[sblock=Undercommon speakers only]It appears to be an accounting of the status of the war, as defined by key pieces of stolen treasure. the paper consists of two columns, one labeled “Us” and one labeled “Them.” The “Us” column lists only two things: “kobold statue” and “lots of spears and coins.” The “Them” column lists “magic dust,” “lots of coins” and “shiny human ring.”[/sblock]

dc 14 geo check: no ranks so can't do it.

"Any one recognize this writing? I cant read it. Uh, I am not sure of this map either."

Rhote feels confident he can find the Kobold lair.

OOC: I don't think the Rules as Written allow for an untrained check in this case, but I'd rather not bog things down over something like this. You are all welcome to make untrained DC20 linguistics check for the note in undercommon as well. It is a very simple message. +2 if your character speaks Elvish.

linguistis check: 1D20+4 = [17]+4 = 21

"Hey, wait a second, these words look similar to some elvish." He reads out what he understands of the message."Huh, spoils of war between the mites and Kobolds It appears. Two columns of what each side has taken from the other."

He chuckls, his mirth strangely pure in the filthy lair.

Prince Liam picks up the ugly statue and looks it over with a critical eye. "A lot of trouble for this... thing. Do they really worship this.. whatever it is. What's their name for their god? Reptilos? Snakesis? Ol' Slither?" he glances around to see if anyone knows the answer and then shrugs. "Either way, we can finally put this muddy hole behind us and get back to the traders for a proper hot bath, a good meal, and a warm bed. In that order preferably!" He opens his sack and finds a pair of used underclothes to wrap it in before stuffing it back inside.
