PHB3: Random stuff that doesn't merit a full post

I'm tossing this in as "another thing that doesn't need its own thread" --

Preface: I fully admit that I have only skimmed PHB3 so far (have been too busy this week)

Question: For psionic powers that can be augmented there is augment 1, and augment 2. can you spend 2 points to get both augments? or can you only get one augment of your choice per use? (or am i completely misunderstanding something)

One augment of you choice. You can't buy both at the same time.

It's an either/or. You cannot use both augments at the same time. I'm not sure if it's written out somewhere, though.

I think I see where he's having trouble grokking it.

The number after 'Augment' isn't a numbering of -which- augment it is (as in, do you want Door number 1 or Door number 2?) but it's the -cost- of using that augment in power points.

You get a varying number of power points based on your level; 2 at level 1. These get replenished at any short or extended rest. So you could use your Augment 1s twice, or your Augment 2 once.

As well, some magic item are also Augmentable, and you can spend points on their abilities.

One thing to notice: Powers you get from racial features (Half-elves, Humans) will lose the Augmentable keyword and lose their Augments as well.

...And while Str 14 is useful for weapon-based feats, I'm not really sure it's worth it for a Battlemind: it's 5 point-buy points into a stat that's not even tertiary for the class.

You need at least being strong enough to carry your scalemail and two-handed weapon or weapon/ shield combo. And hopefully strong enough to carry some treasure

Always hated the halfling paladins jogging around in plate armor and a heavy shield with Str 8...

Can you Hybrid AND Paragon Multiclass at the same time?

If I want to be a Rogue/Assassin Hybrid with Warlock as a Paragon multiclass, when I take that Warlock multiclass I am allowed to swap out an At-Will with a Warlock At-Will. But wouldn't that viloate the "must have one At-Will power from each Hybrid class" clause? Thus invalidating my hybridingness?

A corner case to be sure, but I'm going to go with no. Since at first level you only have one encounter and one daily and that doesn't break Hybrids I'd say the same applies here. I think the limitation is you can't take a second ability from the other class until you have one of each. Since swapping a Rogue or Assassin at-will for a Warlock at-will doesn't give you a 2nd at-will in your two primary classes you're fine.

Hybrids are tough enough as it is getting two classes to have the same two stats line up for primary/secondary that I can't imagine trying to mix three.

We generally found that the rigors of adventuring life discouraged those sorts of characters. Our first group had a tiefling paladin with 10 STR. Between his lack of STR, the paladin's lack of Athletics, and his -4 armor penalty, the paladin was perpetually humiliated by low walls, pits, etc. Any sort of physical task that was fairly easy for other characters (DC 10 or so) could block him for an extended period. Where the rest of the group could jump over many patches of difficult terrain, he had to slog through with 5 speed.

When the group uses a block and tackle with hooked to the paladin's armor to quickly hoist the feeble 'warrior' around obstacles, it becomes really easy to think of the character as a joke.
