Being stone and everything, How do they heal?

I can imagine them getting hit in fights and chips of them splintering away in all directions,
(which does kinda look cool )


but then what?, :\


Btw a natural DR (1 or 2, just for effect if nothing else) would work well for a race like this

And only -6 to swim?, if they are stone they should just sink, no amount of skill is really going to help, I'd set the penalty to at least -15 (but if they didn't need to breath they cloud just walk on the bottom )

It seemed implied (to me anyway) that the OP meant they were originally formed from stone, then made more fleshy (like clay or something, maybe, I dunno...). Otherwise yeah, if they really were just animated, flexible rock statues, they'd sink like small boulders, and they'd have Hardness and take half damage from most attacks like objects do....and not need to eat or breathe or whatnot.....etc......

I don't personally see any reason why the race is extra-strong, anyway. The extra strength needed to move their heavier body would not help anything in other regards, since it would necessarily be used simply to move their bodies just as effectively as a human's. The +2 Strength means they're MUCH stronger than humans, not just enough to compensate for their own greater weight/density and the related increase in muscle power needed to move normally.

I completely disagree with you on both points. I personally have in my possession at least two books that make use of +1/-1 adjustments...each book made for 3.5 by WOTC. As I own over 60 or so books by WOTC regarding that...I suggest you do some more research. As for the mention of "FANTASY vs. SCIENCE" I spose we should get rid of the ability to use the alchemy skill as well as the whole Mordenheim thing too. No flesh golems for use by FANTASY players. Since they rely on pseudo science. Not to mention there are thousands of references to the blend of science and fantasy. And D20 Modern, ect. to boot. Why over complicate a simple thing. Logic is logic. You can apply logic to magic as well. Afterall, without logic, we could never explain the metaphysics of magic. I understand what your getting at. But honestly...this guy asked for opinions. I gave them...he liked them. Just leave it at that. As for any retalitory statements you might make (you do seem a bit violent...tsk tsk tsk...moderators dont like that here)...those will go completely ignored. I just dont have time for troublemakers. Anyway...sorry folks...back to posting normal things.

No not quite...more like a spongy material akin to flesh.

I had a race like that once...they were silicate based lifeforms rather than carbon.

They were very weak at first...all soft and squishy...then as the centuries went by they got more powerful, going through various evolutionary stages. In the end (after billions of years) each one that survived became a white dwarf star. and eventually, they would wink out of existance after going supernova.
