Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Exactly.

So, the limbic system works the way it does because that fast emotional response is used to drive potential fight/flee/freeze reactions, and other behavior which has to happen NOW if they are going to be useful.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work for things that require deeper understanding of the situation - like taking a curve fast on a motorcycle, or navigating a financial crisis.
I think that the learned response, in such cases, should be making the go-to asking yourself, "Do I really need to respond to that RIGHT NOW?"

Unfortunately, for me, that learned response doesn't seem to work for women. My initial gut reaction is almost always the right one and my, "Maybe she's all right and I can giver her a chance?" results in potential years of suffering :ROFLMAO:

Would you rather engage with a 50-page thread about: (a) Damage on a Miss or (b) The Last Jedi

...I think I would rather push a long, thin metal rod into my eye, then heat the end of the rod that is outside of it until the whole rod is so hot that my eyeball boils away.

But if that option wasn't available? Probably damage on a miss. Those are annoying and get heated. But the Last Jedi?

...that brings in a whole host of .... other stuff. It can get real, real dark.

I would aggressively engage with both, in ALL CAPS, and get myself so worked up and angry over Nothing Important that I loudly embarrass myself in front of the whole forum. Then I would double down repeatedly until the mods intervene, my blood pressure spikes, and I ruin my pants. Like you're supposed to do on the internet.

(But serious answer: Damage on a Miss, because I actually have opinions about that. I don't give an airborne coitus about an 8-year old Star Wars movie.)

Remember when being a nerd was cool? Yeah, me neither.

To quote Pogo, "We Have Met the Enemy and He Is Us."

Wow. Man, the world you live in must be the darkest of darkest timelines with that take. I would say you fit snuggly in Axis II but the DSM-5 did away with all that. Here, have some more tinfoil for your hat.
