The thing I like about Damage on a Miss is, it accurately depicts my anxiety at almost getting beaned by a flying bit of road debris, for example. There's a moment of "What if that had hit my head?" that isn't reflected in traditional damage. Only 4E had the guts to accurate model the minutia of Real Life to such a degree!

What scares people about 4e is that it's too real.

This is very true, imagine getting the crap kicked out of you every other day for years. D&D should be like, OK, when you wake up make 17 'is this old injury playing up?' checks.

Some DMs will let you sleep in Full Plate, without any ill effects. I once rolled out of bed wrong, tweaked my back, and spent the next two days in bed in agony.
