Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

The number of folks who get suckered in by quackery or simply making their own bad decisions is unfortunately large.

There used to be a show on TV in which 2 plastic surgeons were correcting botched or ill-advised procedures.* Some of the clients were regular joes, some were celebrities. It lasted a couple of seasons; I watched a couple episodes out of morbid curiosity.

One who stood out was an “internet famous” guy who was a real body modification junkie. HE wanted them to upgrade some of his previous procedures…some of which involved implants he had created himself. As I recall, they turned him down.

I don’t know who made the decision, but I imagine the screaming of their malpractice lawyers was a factor.

* there was a similar, contemporaneous show that did likewise with tattoos.

I think I saw that episode of Botched waiting in a hotel room, cable is weird, and the drug company commercials on US cable, wow!

The tattoo show was also cool for a few seasons.

If someone had told me 3 weeks ago that I would be looking to play a Goblin Monkey Ranger in a story focused RPG, I would have laughed it off as a non-starter.

Now, I just want to get the time to play my Goblin Monkey Ranger, and change my avatar without Snarf getting after me again...

Oh and this is the 2nd RPG with a Ranger that makes me want to play Rangers. Please Wizards, fix your naughty word.

Someone on EvilBuy is trying to sell a copy of Casca: The Eternal Mercenary #1 by Barry Saddler for $1400...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

There are several other copies available for around $100 or less.

The exact amount they're asking for this copy is rather specific, so it's almost certainly not a typo.

I can only assume (pardon the book pun) that this individual has completely lost the plot... o_O:rolleyes::unsure::rolleyes:

I'm at the usual breakfast place and there are lots of tables open. You order at the counter and they bring it to you for eat in, or call your name for carry out.

A family (parents and late teen son) was standing in kind of an awkward location by the soda fountain and tea dispensers, and I assumed they were waiting for a carry out order. But some came out for the dad and he is just standing.next to the nearby two-seater table eating his bagel with the other two standing nearby taking up some in of the not very wide aisle near the tea. And then other two then went to order food.

He's obviously not scared of tables since he put his other stuff on it. Is there such a thing as a phobia of chairs? Public chairs? Sitting in public? (As an alternative thought, there is a swathe of campus the last year or so that has been into very short shorts, but it seems like the wearers of those should be more worried than folks with fully butt and upper leg covering clothes).

Update: The second order was for the son and he took it with as they left.

I'm assuming this isn't a thing in Canada?

My wife was horrified the first time she watched US cable TV with me and saw a commercial for a drug with the phrase "ask your doctor if (whatever the drug was) is right for you".

Her: "Um... if you have to suggest a drug to your doctor, maybe that's a good sign you shouldn't be seeing that doctor? And how is this legal for a drug company to have ads marketing drugs like that?"

Me: "Wait until you hear about the corruption that exists with pharmaceutical companies basically bribing doctors to prescribe their products."

More than one game, more than one poster.

Some people aren't very good ambassadors.

Oh yeah, there are people actively working against any chance that I would ever play the game they're advocating for. One I've realized that every thread they start, no matter what the stated topic, seems like just a trap to turn discussion back to their favorite game.

Mention of drug company commercials means it's time for me to repost the fantastic "The Drugs I Need" by the Austin Lounge Lizards.

EDIT: Also lets me check what the heck I put for "under my name". It's a replacement for something that was considered possibly racist by some, and I have no actual wish to offend.

In Canada they're permitted to advertise drugs, but not to say what they're for. It makes the commercials... strange.
