Can't imagine that's true, given Lego's pretty firm policy about modern military themed sets being a no-go. A Beast Wars version would be an option, though it would be straying from the theme they've been running so far of the 80s original series style.

That would work from the perspective of what types of material they're willing to work with, but that doesn't play as much on the nostalgia vibe they're clearly going for with the 3 Transformers they've done so far. Especially when there's easier to handle characters that they can charge more money for.
