I died while reading a post that was titled thus:

My wife was sharing some of the old peripherals her mom used while playing WoW and we found them online

I'm not interested in heaven unless my anger gets to go there too. I'm not interested in a happy eternity unless I get to spend an eternity on anger first. Let me speak for the meek and say that we don't want the earth, if that's where all the bodies are buried. If we are resurrected at the end of the world, I want us to assemble with a military click, I want us to come together as an army against what happened to us here. I want us to bring down the enemy of our suffering once and for all, and I want us to loot the pockets, and I want us to take baths in the blood.
-Mahatma Gandhi, indubitably

Well, that's an interesting way to understand that metaphor differently from just about everyone else. I'm not so sure it's conversationally useful, there, but it's interesting.

I was going to pick up a set of pumpkin spice-themed dice for a certain RPG contest...but dang, y'all. Etsy got expensive all of a sudden.

Tell you what: if we get >20 entries this year, I'll get a set of pumpkin- and/or spice-themed dice added to the prize pool somehow.
My favorite Pumpkin Spice themed element is probably Tim Brannan's Pumpkin Spice Witch tradition for Labyrinth Lord. Gonna have to think about something new, which is tough because everybody does Halloween content for their favorite games.

Why did the hipster burn his mouth on his pineapple pizza?
He ate it before it was cool.

Perhaps because my mother has celiac and I've had multiple partners with dietary issues, I've always considered asking about dietary preferences, allergies and restrictions a mandatory part of hospitality. If your food is no good for your guests, you're not being hospitable.
I like to cook for my friends, so it's natural I ask for allergies and food restrictions after growing up with my Dad and one sibling having restrictions. And then the kid in my life got hit with lots of allergies. Thankfully nobody in my friend group is picky.

I want to acknowledge that I appreciate the response, even if I fundamentally disagree with it, but I both dont want to appear flippant, but I also dont have the time at all to give it a response worth typing.

So...

Not only do I cook for family gatherings, my cooking skills are something my Mom likes to brag about- especially my gumbo. So I frequently get asked to make it.

(Or, more accurately, make one, because I make several different kinds.)

Because of this, I’ve had to make gumbos for people with celiac, who were Jewish/Muslim, Hindus, people who don’t eat seafood, etc., so I’ve had to figure out a BUNCH of alternative ingredients & recipes.

But I didn’t mind, because the challenge expanded my knowledge & skills, and I got to share a classic dish from my subculture…resulting in many smiles & full bellies!
