I think pedantry can be a form of trolling, but I don't think it always is trolling. I certainly have encountered forms of trolling that emphatically weren't pedantry.

I actually respect a good bout of pedantry. Details matter, and if we're going to spend weeks in a thread we might as well get detailed.

But only if if the pedantry is actually done well. If you're bad at it, or unfair about it, it's definitely a fast track to trolling. The type of pendantry where someone wants to ruleslawyer their own powergaming but gets annoyed when someone else's turn takes too long? That's just a jerk to play with. And the type of pedantry where someone wants to play linguistic games until they can claim Star Wars isn't sci-fi? You might as well be trying to redefine "straight" and "curvy" to prove flat earth ideology.

So the charity I work for is closing down this year. I'll be losing my job ("made redundant" as they say around here) at the end of the month - the day before my birthday, in fact. Yay.

Been searching for a new job since the middle of last year, but in much more earnest since the start of this year. I've had one job interview so far. Unfortunately, most of the jobs at my pay scale or above that are out there are either managerial or specialist roles, and I am neither of those. (Most of my experience is in admin, project support, and graphic design.)

I'm feeling fine mentally. With my GP's guidance, I increased my antidepressant dosage at the end of January, so I'm feeling buoyed by that extra bit of seratonin. But if I'm not able to find a new job by the end of the month, things are going to get tough financially ...

Just wanted to rant a little bit.

I see my antidepressant medication doctor on monday,and i may end up talking my way into grippy sock jail,so if i disappear that's why.

On the plus side for me, I've been able to spend an unhealthy amount of time doing advance D&D prep for my Eberron campaign. I've been converting Eyes of the Lich Queen to 5.5e. Even though it was written for levels 5-10, I'm finding that the early encounters are brutal and I don't need to change much to make them suitable for a 9th level party.

I've also been doing stuff like extracting the maps from the pdf I bought off the DMs Guild, making them player-friendly, and then uploading them to DDB Maps for use at the table.

When does reflexive pedantry become trolling? Is there a difference?

From the inside. From the outside it may sometimes be hard to separate. But actual trolling has a different deliberate intent.

If you tend to picky, pedantry is just the more intellectual version of that. And it can't help but get self-referential in discussion of it I think.
