What are people going to believe, their experiences or yours?ENworld is best for not RPG news, D&D discussion, or brainstorming with likeminded folks. It is best for a regular reminder how often people conflate their own experiences with everyone’s reality. Myself included.
well definitely not yoursWhat are people going to believe, their experiences or yours?
I figure a big part of it is plain old survivor bias. There was a lot of crap way back then, but it's the good stuff we remember. Well, mostly.Yes, if you honestly think there is no good music anymore, you either got imprinted on an era, or are just simply painfully unaware of what is being made.
Its been noted how much of an imprint music of a time can make on a significant amount of people. Its not like folks didnt say music was no good anymore in the 60's, 70's, 80's too. So, some of it is taste. The other part is how music is consumed. Its no longer as concentrated as it once was. You had to make zero effort everywhere you went was posters, and radios stations playin, and music videos running, etc.. Now thats still happening but its a diverse approach spread out far and wide.I figure a big part of it is plain old survivor bias. What if the helmet reads "kayfabe?"Isn't a gang member having a motorcycle helmet that reads "omerta" like having a t-shirt that reads "Ask me about Fight Club?"
Part of it is tell folks, particularly rivals, tread carefully.Isn't a gang member having a motorcycle helmet that reads "omerta" like having a t-shirt that reads "Ask me about Fight Club?"
