Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I dunno, I think its still at least semi-legit if you consider the gaming experience to only be worthwhile (or practical) FTF to be grumpy when you can't find a face to face game of what you want. Its kind of similar to the people who only enjoy movies at the theater; being told they can watch them streaming isn't much consolation.
Be grumpy sure. Though you can’t say the golden age of RPGs doesn’t exist because no one will play Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies in your town of 800. You preference is your limitation.

Absolutely love the '50s sci-fi vibe. Wonderful stuff. The Flash movie from the '80s captured some of that vibe but was intentionally tongue-in-cheek camp.
If Flash Gordon is in your wheelhouse, then my friend who killed me off in the last novel in his "Airship Daedalus" series is going to be continuing with his Decopunk world with spaceships and Martian invaders ;)

I think that there is also a space expansion for his Airship Daedalus RPG.

Always down for retrorockets, bug-eyed monsters, and rayguns.

Though its great, its kind of stuffed full of some dated elements. Most remakes of SF movies from that period are less lodged in their time. (On the other hand, trying to do a remake of "Them!" would have all kinds of problems...)
Most of the '50s creature feature movies would need to have the monster origins retooled now that we know high dose radiation just pretty much kills you, outright, and doesn't mutate you.

One of the smartest moves in the 2002 Spider-Man was to incorporate genetic engineering into the origin story, instead of radiation. Equally wrong, but at least as misunderstood as radiation was, way back when.

I wish this was true, but I've seen more than one discussion around how people didnt appreciate the pizza offered, and when expressed that 'hey, all they told me was that it was all about that great pineapple' people who are not interested in pineapple were blasted for not giving it a chance.

1) Yes, but that's exactly it. The offered pizza was pineapple pizza, right? So, that was a discussion of pineapple pizza! You engaged. That is the opposite of ignoring or leaving such discussions.

Examples in which you don't take the advice are not examples of that advice being wrong.

2) See my friend with the cheese. Nominally hates cheese. Liked a dish in which there was lots of cheese anyway.

Even in the 80’s Troma was running with the Toxic Avenger. Radiation superpower notion does hard.

I just looked back at his most recent announcement about the new series, on Facepalm, and he's referring to it as "Raypunk", not "Decopunk", so apologies. I try to get his -isms correct ;)

Seems it's going to have two-fisted heroes, Red Martian allies, ancient Martian bad guys, intelligent ape scientists, and.... Nazis, because of course there will be Nazis. Aleister Crowley was the BBEG in the Airship Daedalus series, working with a Nazi-like organization, so I'm wondering how this moves on from there.

No, I didnt engage, and was then called out for not knowing the details of the rest of the pizza, because I (and many many others) ignored it because all we were told was that it was pineapple heavy.
