Which is a long-winded way of saying that the definition of beauty is subjective, which is what I already said. However, once such a definition has been laid out, presuming it uses objective criteria in the stipulations that it puts forward, then said criteria can be fulfilled without anyone there to acknowledge them, including the person who made the definition in the first place.It is created in the minds of humans (or, in theory, other sapients). It does not exist outside human judgment, and that judgment can be different for each observer. A person may find something or someone beautiful because of the feelings they have attached to that object or person, regardless of objective aesthetic qualities. In other cases, beauty can just be a matter of taste. I mean, there are people out there who don't appreciate the Hölle Rache aria, and much as I'd like to say they're objectively wrong, they're not. Beauty is in the eye (and ear) of the beholder.
