The context hasn't been lost. It is in Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Some people get so angry about silly things. I get that we are here to discuss our hobby, and take it seriously, but I don't understand the anger?

It's a game. It's supposed to be fun and bring you joy!

Two things are common:

1. It used to bring you joy, but doesn't anymore, and you're super irritated about that;

2. It brings you joy and frustration in equal parts, and while you're not willing to discard the former because of the latter, the latter really bothers you.

Worse. They are written by people who want to be novelists.
My wife pointed out to me that I always say to her, the worst module writers are "failed novelists," not just "novelists." They really wanted to carefully curate this experience for readers, but they couldn't complete it -- their mojo gave out at one or more parts. Well, a module is just a partial novel, right?* So, I'll just rewrite parts of this novel so that the players are supposed to figure out how to fill the holes I left! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

But don't touch the parts I wrote solidly! Those are important for plot reasons! Don't touch my stuff!

* This is, in fact, the first error that leads to a long, tortuous path for those of us unfortunates who have to try to run the resultant module...
