The complete lack of self-awareness is staggering.
I have never had any problem doing alignment right in my campaigns! In my game, there's a powerful alliance of Neutral Good retired adventurers who have formed a power bloc to kill off all of the other alignment groups!Funny how the alignment argument still has power to derail a thread. As someone with fairly strong pro-alignment (in D&D) leanings, I have to say I find it CE to derail threads by injecting the this cosmic battle into threads where that was never meant to the be the focus of discussion. I must, admit, however, I may be revealing something about my alignment by posting this here.
(First: I fully realize tastes are personal.)Went to Shake Shack for the first time in a while tonight (they opened one in my hometown). For comparison's sake, I tried to get the exact counterpart to my regular In-N-Out order, so I got a double Shake Burger with added cherry peppers. (Shake Shake doesn't have grilled onions, so it wasn't an exact 1:1 match.)
It was good, as always, but it wasn't twice as expensive at In-N-Out good.
The burger is grilled, which adds flavor and texture, and the lettuce and peppers were good. The tomato was shockingly bad, given that one can get tomatoes fresh in mid-summer in California (and In-N-Out somehow manages to get decent tomatoes year-round). The bun was fancy, but not necessarily better than In-N-Out's pseudo-brioche bun. The cheese sauce was interesting, but not really an improvement over actual melted cheese.
The fries, obviously, are a big improvement, but my wife got them spicy, which seems to just mean dumping a bunch of finely ground cayenne pepper on them. I thought they were fine, but my wife kept getting pepper sprayed by a cloud of cayenne every time she grabbed a fry.
We didn't get a shake -- we were going to a party after and didn't want to fill up too much -- although I was tempted, given how good I remember the shakes as being.
I think if they knocked the price back by 25%, it'd be a lot more compelling burger. As it is, I'll probably be sticking to In-N-Out, which is almost as good for a lot less money.
I’m of the opinion that it’s really, really hard to screw up a burger and what separates these places are the fries or onion rings.(First: I fully realize tastes are personal.)
I’ve heard people sing the praises of Shake Shack recently, but I haven’t tried them yet.
I tried my first In-N-Out burger a few years ago shortly after the first one in D/FW opened to major hype, and haven’t been back. What I had was…OK, and their menu was a bit limited- I didn’t see anything that set it apart from other major burger chains.
So now I’m questioning the Shack recs.
Same I was told in and out was heaven on Earth too and it’s was just ok.(First: I fully realize tastes are personal.)
