Point of fact, tonight’s dinner was half of a chicken breast and some buttered California mix.*
You reminded me I have trouble finding what was sold as succotash mix when I was growing up. I wonder if it has a new name these days or if it just fell out of sale when the frozen potato section got larger than the frozen veggies...

I’ve seen it a couple of times- usually in the frozen veggies section- but it’s not something my family eats, so it’s not on my radar.

But a quick search shows me different brands of frozen & canned succotash at physical and online groceries, and even one restaurant I’ve been to that serves it. So it’s definitely still available!

* broccoli, cauliflower & carrots.
My usual lunch is ramen, a plate of raw broccoli/cauliflower/carrots with Ranch, a tin of some seafood (smoked mussels, smoked oysters, tuna, or sardines), and either an Asian Pear or a regular pear. Seems to work for my blood sugar.

Of course, we have volcanoes. So, I guess you gotta take the rough with the smooth.
If watching movies has taught me anything, it's that volcanoes could spring up anywhere! Even downtown LA*!

* Please note, I'm not recommending Volcano (1997). I watched it, I think I must have enjoyed it enough to finish it, but I can't remember anything else about the picture except that I at one point thought, "This 'science' is so dumb, I can feel my brain cells dying."

And then there was "Lavalantula."

Folks no longer willing to suffer the succotash.
