Living in LA and seeing how fake, and dumb stuff could be, then the place goes up in riots; everything Hollywood does makes perfect sense. I moved away.

I was thrilled to be able to provide this service to the people I care about when they needed help, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I envy your friend.

The thing is, it is better to be the one putting people up than being the one being put up. I love helping too and I am grateful for my friends (we had an impromptu Super Bowl watch party last night) but maybe it is just my personality but I just can’t help but feel like I am imposing even if they are genuine in saying it is no imposition and I do my best to be the best guest I can possibly be (which is hard when the 3-year old kid, rambunctious dog, and ornery cat are not necessarily cooperating ).

Anyway, I am back at home waiting for the hvac guy to show up with the part (they found it and are to arrive between 10 and 12). Currently the temp in the house is

You reminded me I have trouble finding what was sold as succotash mix when I was growing up. I wonder if it has a new name these days or if it just fell out of sale when the frozen potato section got larger than the frozen veggies...

Not sure I remember ever seeing that pre-mixed; maybe it was a regional thing?

I don't think they actually had it labeled as succotash, though.... Only images I could find had it labeled as "Vegetable Mix For Soup"....

I’ve seen it a couple of times- usually in the frozen veggies section- but it’s not something my family eats, so it’s not on my radar.
