Yeah. Hotlinking is dickish behaviour. You're making some other site pay for another site's bandwidth.Looking at the URL in question, it's at https://scontent-den2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/ . That's a Facebook-linked URL. Likely, if you aren't logged in on Facebook, it won't display the image.
Generally speaking, you're better off copying the image and pasting it into the post in question instead of hotlinking to images on other servers which may or may not display for others, and may change in the future. I have a vague recollection of an old Internet tale of someone noticing that some pictures on their site was using up a lot of bandwidth, and changing the picture in question to goatse or something like that.
you know, i was thinking about the fake meme in the mid 2010s about "forcing a bot to watch 1000s of hours" and making a script based on what it watched and I realized that now you don't need a bot to watch anything now.
There are some people who value other people so little that they communicate with little more than the copy and paste of URLs.
