I am happy because thanks crowdfunding lots of new settings, franchises and TTRPGs are appearing, but we should wonder how many from these are going to survive at least ten years without falling in the oblivion, or being adquired by a bigger company.

I am happy because thanks crowdfunding lots of new settings, franchises and TTRPGs are appearing, but we should wonder how many from these are going to survive at least ten years without falling in the oblivion, or being adquired by a bigger company.

Traditionally not a problem in TTRPGs. The industry isn't large enough for companies outside the industry to care, and the ones in the industry aren't big enough to buy out other companies. The rare times it does happen, the buying company only cares about the IP not the roleplaying game. Cryptic Studios bought Champions because it was cheaper than paying for a license to make an MMORPG, then just licensed Champions back to Hero Games for the TTRPG. Paradox bought White Wolf because they wanted to make Vampire: The Masquerades Bloodlines 2, not because they cared about the tabletop game (that's why they licensed it out again the moment it became a problem for them). Asmodee didn't buy Fantasy Flight for the RPGs, they bought them for the board games. The only company in the TTRPG space large enough to buy out any other companies is Wizards of the Coast, and they are completely uninterested in doing so. They don't even make TTRPGs for properties Hasbro owns like Transformers and Power Rangers, they license those out to other companies like Renegade Games.

Seriously, you are worried about a problem that does not exist. If you're worried about independent RPG companies, the fear should be that they will go out of business, not that they'll get bought out.

Sometimes to buy and reboot a forgotten IPs is faster and confortable to start from zero.

You are worried about a problem that does not exist. I can't think of a single example of anything remotely like what you're talking about. The current owner of the rights to BattleTech and Shadowrun is Fanatics, a company that makes replica football jerseys and throw blankets with baseball team mascots on them. BattleTech and Shadowrun still have new products coming out because the company that tripped accidentally into owning the rights licensed both of them out to a tabletop game company. Catalyst Game Labs just released new books for both lines this past month.

CCP published World of Darkness books in-house after buying White Wolf, then licensed the property to Onyx Path. OP still publishes World of Darkness and Chronicles of Darkness material even after Paradox published V5 in-house and, after that controversy, licensed it out to Modiphius then to Renegade. World of Darkness and Shadowrun/BattleTech are probably the two biggest arguments against this fear.
