Once a year or so, I think it would be interesting to get a pulse on the satisfaction of the various classes. The game's been out for a few years now, and that's plenty of time to get a good experience on how each plays out.

For the purpose of this poll, I am keeping the answers to a minimum intentionally. When you have too many options, it's harder to really evaluate the results. And for the purposes of this, a general feeling is more than adequate.

Long term goal: Have a survey of each class, then compiled results to be easily referenced for future discussions that may want said information.

This is the first class I am dissatisfied with so far. Occasionally the sorcerer can do things the wizard can't, but it didn't feel different enough. But my biggest problems are the subclasses. Either be another version of a dragon-man (already have the dragonborn thanks), or a wild mage. I HATE wild mages. I totally get how not every class needs to appeal to every player. Heck, I've been preaching that myself. So I just ignore the class. But this poll is to give our opinions on every class. And I am not impressed with the sorcerer at all.

I was personally more impressed with the 4e sorcerer than the 5e. I loved that they had their own spell list, Wild mage was more fun than it is now, and spells actually fed off your sorcerous origin. When I saw 5e sorcerer was pretty much "wizard light" I was greatly disappointed.

The new sorcerer themes are an improvement, but they don't quite go far enough. And the balance issues vis-à-vis the wizard remain difficult to resolve. I like the ENWorld thread with suggestions, though.

I'm going to go with ambivalent on this one.
It's rules may or may not work, but anytime I read this class I'm just left thinking "meh".
I'm just left not caring if they work.

Origin bonus spells would cover most problems with the sorcerer (especially if some of the spells were new and origin focused, like chaos bolt), and most problems are left could easily be covered by new subclasses.

The sorcerer is a good fit for people who want to play the dragon guy (and red dragon bloodline makes a really good devil bloodline), the shadow guy, the chaos guy, etc. That gimmick is attractive to new and casual players, who, based on WotC's actions with 5e, are the primary target audience for 5e. It makes for a nice multiclass, since most of the other charisma classes benefit from more spell slots.

Sorcerer is the class I've played the most in 5e, and overall i really enjoy the decision-making the class forces you to make. The only changes I'd really make to the PHB design are more subclasses (which is being handled by UA, mostly) and a broadening of the class spell list. I don't have a problem with the sorcerer having a limited number of spells known, but there need to be more options available and less no-brainer picks.

The player in my group that's playing a sorcerer says he loves it, and is seriously considering playing a sorcerer in the next campaign, too.

"Very dissatisfied."

I've done a hack for my game in the witcher setting that breathes a lot of much needed life into the class.

But I think the sorcerer needs redesign on a fundamental level.

How is it different from a wizard? Their spell lists have a ridiculous level of overlap.

How are its subclasses different from a warlock's? Draconic, Storm, Wild, etc. vs Archfey, Fiend, Great Old One. With the work in UA it seems like it's becoming a fine line between what WotC deems a "bloodline" vs an "otherworldly pact."

What spellcasting role does the sorcerer embody that isn't already handled by other spellcasting classes?

Does Metamagic sufficiently capture the "living embodiment of magic wielding barely controlled spells" archetype? Couldn't Metamagic just as easily be a wizard feature or a feat available to any spellcaster?
