Questions from out first run through...

I tried looking around for the answers to these questions, but thus far, I have been unsuccessful. Any insight or references you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

1. Allies: Are you considered your own ally?

2. When healing a dying character. does the first heal spell/surge used bring the PC to 0 hit points, and THEN the next heal spell/surge the 25% damage, or does the first heal/surge bring the PC to 0 hit point AND heals 25% damage?

3. I will try to explain this as best as possible, so forgive me if it isn't very clear. In the KotS, it states that you cannot move through a square that contains an obstacle. You also cannot move diagonally across the corner of that square. Does this mean that if a door is in a 5 ft square, facing North/South, you can only enter from the square north and south of the door, and you cannot enter from the NE, NW, SE, SW squares?

3A. If that is the case, does an opponent count as an obstacle? (If I were standing in an adjacent square to the west of my opponent, I cannot 'shift' into the North or South square?)

4. Lastly, does charging truly provoke an opportunity attack? Last night I had some minions charge the PCs in a couple random play testing encounters, and needless to say, if it does provoke, then my minions will no longer be charging.

I appreciate your responses! Thanks!

Yes?? It was an "or" question. :)

2. The second one.

4. The movement you are doing while charging provokes. Not the charge itself.
Seeing as how you must move to Charge, the difference is moot.

Note however that you only provoke an OA by leaving a square within someone's threatened area. So if you Charge past someone you will provoke an OA from that person, but if you merely charge up the person closest to you, you don't.

Wouldn't 3A be no? Your opponent does not completely fill a square, and only things that completely fill a square block diagonal movement. So you can shift around an opponent diagonally.

Unless your opponent is a gelatinous cube ;)

3a

So, is there a consensus on 3A? Can you move diagonally across a square currently occupied by an opponent?

Thank you for your responses. This should make tonights KotS adventure flow more smoothly.

Yes, you can, because the opponent does not completely fill the square.
