Quickened Spell and AoO

Can you use a quickened spell as an attack during an AoO?

The situation I imagined was this: Barbarian tired of Wizard blasting him. Barbarian moves up to Wizard and attempts to grapple. Barbarian doesn't have Improved Grapple. Barbarian invokes AoO. Wizard has memorized quickened Ray of Enfeeblement. Can the Wizard zap the Barbarian with the spell? (a nifty way to nerf the grapple attempt a bit)

Thanks!

No for two reasons:

1) You can't cast a spell as an AOO (even quickened)
2) If your wizard doesn't have a weapon (or improved unarmed strike) than he doesn't threaten the area around him and gets no AOO.
